.avi to .gif? (for me avatar!)

I have a scene I want to make into a .gif, but I can't figure out how to make it. I have Imageready as a gif proggie, but it says .avi's are not a valid format so I can't directly import it in or something. How do I do this?

Try downloading the trial version of Uleads Gif animator that will comvert the file for you.
