but its the 320mb version thats less not the 640, not sure how much it will matter as the results from this card are all over the place. Dont know who to believe at this point

from the benchies i have seen the 8800 gts smoke it :).... plus from what ive seen they have driver issues!

Yup saw it, considering it, but shipping is a load though. So waiting til monday won't kill me expecially for faster delivery the "ground".

Actually the 2900XT is the faster card in benches against the 640MB GTS. The real question is, is the XT a better deal? Not right now it isn't. If it drops down to the price of a retail 640GTS then I'd say yeah it's a good deal.

The 640Mb version is about $45 less.

Well if the numbers we have seen have any credibility the 2900XT is faster than a GTS in about 1/2
of cases with the GTS taking the other 1/2 I believe.

We must call upon an OCF user to buy this card and bench in an OCF certified test run against a 8800GTS 640MB.

Right now I'd agree with Viper. 50/50 winning compared to a GTS. By mid summer I'd say a swing of 25/75 for the XT winning after more driver revisions.

I'll be a genie pig, I'll be ordering one on Monday, weather its a smart or stupid choice, even after 6 months of delays and contiplating going to nVidia, I'll stick by my word and get one.

If someone wants to run tests be my guest, but im only benching in Vista 64-bit Ultimate. No tweaks to the OS and will be running it like I would normally. Im not going to give skewed results by shutting everything down, because when I post benches its with everything like I normally would, even if its a low to high OC on CPU or GPU.

the x2900's are rumourd to bundle with hl2:EP2 and TF2. I'd buy it if it came with those games.

We won't be getting HL2:ep2 until this all around September. I believe a release date was given, but I don't have it on the top of my head. I get the sapphire version on Tuesday or so and I will let you know what kind of things it comes bundled with. I was surprised to find that my Asus commando actually came with GRAW.
