Hey.. I have a Hewlett Packard 6740c with a 667mhz celeron processor that runs 66mhz x 10multiplyer.

I bought this computer for my dad for christmas, a -big- item for me to spend my money on. and i had the intent to overclock it to get more bang for my buck.

I believe the board is either a D810E2CA3 or a D810E2CB (both Intel boards)

I've looked at CPUFSB and i can only find the D815xxxx board to overclock.
i don't see any similar boards on SoftFSB either.

What are my options?
There are -NO- jumper settings on the board. I already checked that out. I think i have to rely on software.

Any other programs? Any help? anything? =/

I've got a suspection that there is no way of overclocking that machine.
1) Computer brands like Compaq, HP, Dell etc. eliminates any overclocking options from their computers.
2) Intel does obviously not like overclocking. Therefore, Intel 'boards does not have any overclocking possibilities. The only available FSB's are 66, 100 or 133 and they're auto detected - not adjustable in BIOS or with jumpers.

There is another program called softFSB, but like Wayshot says, non-standard FSB settings are going to pretty much going to be mission impossible. The only other chance you have is to fool the board into thinking the CPU has a default 100 FSB. Seems like you cover a pin or something, but I don't have a refernce how to do that. Maybe I'm thinking of the old slot 1 CPUs? But, even if you can do that, it is not a sure thing, because lots of those 667 Cellies won't do 1 gig even on a good mobo. A buddy of mine has a C-667 and I've tried several times and failed to get it to even boot at 1 gig.

i gotta question,
if you had intent to overclock the computer why did you buy a retail one? :p
