Hi,

I just ordered this GeForce 2 MX 400 MSI Starforce 826 - card and discovered that it runs @ 175Mhz. I read somehere that the card could easily run @ 200Mhz, but I'm not very sure about that.

Does anyone know if this card could handle this, and do I therefor need to buy a cooler?

Is it useful to overclock the card or wouldn't there be any difference noticeable?

Thanks a lot for your time,

Dieter.

yes, its often useful.
MXs r good boards but they r not too fast when running new games with high quality settings, thats when the overclock difference will be more noticeable and useful.

200MHz will be no problem for the gpu core.

and its much more safe installing a good cooler on it, as much as it will let you to get higher frequencies without getting any problem.

Thanks for your help... I'll buy a cooling device for the card.

One last question: When I install drivers of an other MX400-card but with a 200Mhz cpu, let's say 'leadtek', will my card use its default 175Mhz, or the 200Mhz from the driver of leadtek?
