Is this too high??
Note that my room temp is around 28C or os.
What others are getting?
DO I have hope to overclock this on stock cooler?
I have DS3 BTW :)
It seems a little high for stock clocks...
I'd ensure you have a thin layer of TIM, not a lump, and ensure that the clips are fully down.
I would believe that ~25 idle and ~40 load would be more appropriate
That's way too high for stock settings. I think a redo job on the heatsink install.:)

With those ambients it may not be mounted poorly, just a combination of high ambient plus stock HSF. At 20C ambient you'd be at ~24C idle (which is good) and 45C load in theory, depending upon case airflow and so on. Maybe the load temp is a bit high but it is the stock cooler
disable PWM in bios and your temps will go down cause your fans will spin all the time.. on that ds3 board PWM is enabled by default and the cpu fan wont even be running half the time.
I've had quite the same temperatures.

Thanks everyone for advice.
Jordon, I will try disabling PWM and see. Thanks for the advice.
pinx, so what are your temps now (I see u have Scythe as cooler now), without OC and then with OC?
Thanks all for help.
Idle Windows (33°C), 1.42V Orthos load (57-60°C).
But you should know that Vcore is now slightly higher, 1.55V BIOS, 1.5V Idle Windows, 1.42V Orthos load.
On stock cooler it was 1.3375V BIOS, 1.24V Orthos load.

Ok, disabled SMART FAn control (PWM and whatever) and temps dropped to:
26C idle, 48C with TAT Full Load (15 min run) :)
Is this typical for stock heatsink with no overclock?
Maybe nothing wrong with my heatsink mounting (I hope) :)

Hmm... Looks running Ortho (stress ram and cpu, priority 1) for 1 hour gives temps of 44C load :)
TAT is much more agressive I think for temps.
