I'm setting up a mirrored array on the above referenced board with an existing boot drive on SATA1. There is another SATA drive on SATA2, no PATA drives except dvd/cd rom's, same channel.
I've got two SamSung 500g I want to mirror as a network back up for my laptop and media files, however, everytime I enable the device in Device Manager, I get a blue screen of death.
The drives are visible in the bios and I was able to configure the RAID using the onboard utility. I ran samsung's fdisk utility and formatted the drives but everytime I try to update the drivers or enable the Fasttrack controller...BSOD.
Someone please tell me there's a way to get these up without F6'ing during the windows install? I considered going in under a safe load and see if I can enable there without a crash or am I destined to reinstall windows to get the controller active. I assumed you had to F6 the drivers in only if you were setting up a boot array (which i did have at one point.).
Any suggestions.
PS. Machine config:
3.2 P4 default speeds
P4C800 dlx
2g system memory
6800 ultra
1 160g Sata boot disk
1 160g sata storage disk
1 500g RAID1 array
WinXP
using onboard everything else, network, sound etc.
