I have an extra fan and a my power supply realy heats up my computer. I am thinking of takeing the power supply fan out side of the PSU and putting it over the fan hole just under it and takeing my larger fan and putting it in the PSU.

This keeps some air exchange going in the case and pulls air out through the PSU faster.

Can any one see I problem tht I can not or just have a recommendation?

How does a psu heat the comp when it just has air blowing out through it. Air leaving the case doesn't contribute to the heat inside the case...

you cant fit anything bigger then a 80mm fan in you psu unless you plane to mod the psu and put 92 or 80mm fan in the bottem like a enermax. remember thaat the biggest heat is coming of the cpu so if you can find a way to cool it at the same time it should help

the reason that the PSU adds heat to the case is that is while the air blowing through helps keep it cool after a few hours of running it still manages to heat my case up. I am rather sure that it is the PSU because the area around the PSU on the case is noticeable hotter then the rest of the case.

I have done a mod that might help. I took a dremel and cut the housing of the psu to connect a few of the air slits to make a hole. The air slits were the ones that are directly opposite the the fan blowing out, the ones that suck air from inside your case.

Then I took a modest fan, a thin one from a cheap hsf, and screwed it over the hole, blowing into the psu, to give that psu fan a little boost from behind. It just happented that the screw holes matched up with some of the air slits next to the hole, so I didn't even need to drill holes.

I noticed a good improvement in air out of the psu.

Got the mode done.
I added a second fan to the back vebts on the power supply.
This droped my case temps from between 36-8 to 31. Also droped the CPU temp by 3 degress. This is something that people who have 20 fans in their cases but have not yet added any to the power supply.

Sweet. Isn't that just a nice easy, and effective mod?
