WOW cool article! I didnt know that Sony actually includes F@H software as part of THIER update?? This definately puts the PS3 closer to my "Should I bother buying a new game console" list. Good for Sony!

Is the PS3 comparable to a normal PC for folding points? I've been travellinng around with the USAF so I have not been around to keep an eye on the PCs. (People are starting to figure out how to remove the F@H service I install on my family's PCs.)

They produce 900 ppd so will produce >2X better than any single core pc, ~ comparable to a low end DC running SMP, and about 50% better than a gpu.

~ 40-50% of a fast 4MB cache c2d, and ~ <30% of an oc'ed c2Q

Hmmm... Didn't someone reply to this thread right above mine with some smartarse comment about how stupid it was posting anything about the PS3? They must have erased it...
