Can`t seem to find Direct X8.1 Drivers, any address`s please.

try going here

windows update (http://www.windowsupdate.com)

then click on "product updates" on the left side of the screen.

it's the windows update program provided by microsoft.

while you're at it, i'd also suggest updaiting all the other patches/bug fixes they have available there, too.

tried installing 8.1 half a dozen times, but 3dmark still says I have 8.0... it never asks me to restart when I install 8.1. I wonder what the problem is?

hmm...

are you getting it from microsoft windows update? or did you find another way to get dx8.1?

there is a proggie you can run called dxdiag that will give you all the ins and outs of directx on your system. just hit start, run, then type in "dxdiag". (without the quotes).

if it's not asking you to restart, that sounds to me like it's not installing. i cant say for sure, but every time i update dx or many other major components from windows update, i always have to restart.

Yes you are right you have to restart your pc after installing Direct 8.1 & most other drivers as well.

There is a chance that the drivers got corrupted on download check to make sure you are not using any third party software eg.
Gozilla etc.

Got it from microsft downloads.. no gozilla! puhleeze... I sometimes use DAP, but not anymore since I got cable. I never use it when downloading drivers/updates. I'll just re-download it... and some1 mentioned directx buster to uninstall v8.0 that's in there now. Will try all this stuff in the AM.
