I received a Liteon 16X10X40 CDRW for my last birthday. It works fine with Nero 5.5 or KloneSeeDee. I've only burned about ten CD-R's and CD-RW's with it so far. Two coasters, using CompUSA blanks, but it was because of the burning software, not the CDRW.
Liteon rebadges other manufacturer's burners, AFAIK. If you get really lucky, you might get a Plextor--or at least you could have a few months ago.

what other companies do you know off that have rebadging practices? I think im going to stay away from these companies . i want to be sure of what im getting. ill pay a "little" more for a good brand.
Lite-on is the#2 manufacturer of CDRW drives worldwide. They have been involved in providing OEM solutions for companies like DELL, CPQ, HPW.....etc, but relatively recently, have been selling drives under their own name. You should have more concern about buying a "brand" name drive that may have been re-badged. Lite-on is the manufacturer, that other companies might re-badge as their own. Here's a link to a review of a Lite-on CDRW drive that might assuage your apprehensions:

The Lite-on is a very good, reliable drive, perhaps a few percent slower in some benchmarks, but you can get a 24x10x40 for about $85 shipped, about $75 less than a Plextor.
