ok, got my new xp 1800+ and epox 8k7a+. installed everything and when i start it up i get the bios crap and then it says amd athlon 4 1150!! then it says floppy disks fail and freezes. what did i do wrong? do i have to set the jumpers to the right clock settings? if so what are they?

On the epox 8k7a there is a jumper that changes between 200 and 266 fsb. Try checking for that. :D

i got everything to work now but i stil get the chceksum error. i tried flashing bios but i couldn't get that to work. i tried clearing cmos with the jumper but it wouldn't turn on unlees it was in the normal state. what am i doing wrong?

Check the the cable between your motherboard and the floppy drive. Make sure it is connected the right way round and that there is no damage to the cable itself.
Also have you tried booting with the floppy drive not connected?

i got everything fixed. now i just have a problem with windows XP. it wont boot cuz i cahnged hardware. i can't boot from anything else because it wont let me. i took the hdd of the boot list but it still boots!

How many hardware changes have you made to you install of XP? there's a rumor going around that M$ will only allow 3 hardwarechanges, and after that, you have to re-install and get and re-register the install. This is just a rumor as far as I know. I'm trying to get my boss to give me a copy of the home edition to test my theory. Things aren't going well so far.
