Im not sure if i have asked this b 4 but is there any way to monitor the memory usage on a graphics card (spicifically a 8800gts 640mb)?

Rivatuner v2.01 has a plugin for the hardware monitor that will tell you. He admits its not perfect, but it will give you an idea.

I got a program called Video Memory Watcher that does just that, can't remember where I got it though.

poweruser>(rivatuner/monitor/plugins) check+lite on vidmem.dll

well looking into it more, it might not be working. i just played cod2 for a while and it didnt register any numbers - so that might not be how it's done. :-/

Some games have console commands that will display the information.

i actually loaded up the plugin and then loaded 3dmark06 and it registered what i would think the correct ammount of vram usage... pretty neat ill have to play around with it.
