Video files skip

Hi. On my Win 2k system when I go and watch MPEG or AVI files every couple of minutes it skips ahead a few seconds. Does this have something to do with the Via chipset? Because on my Dell all the files work fine. Thanks

Well..

What happens if you try another player, are you running something while playing those because they'll tend to skip if the CPU usage are too high.

Did this happen as soon as the first time you played it or recently?

It happened the first time I played it. I'm not running anything in the background. CPU usage is at null.

I thought it was the nVidia drivers, but it happened with both 21.83 and 23.11. I wonder if anyone else has this problem.
