My monitor is getting fuzzy and blurry at all four corners....I haven't had to replace a monitor yet, so I suppose that is the warning sign of a dying one? I've got a gateway ev500 (i know, but 15 in. doesnt bother me now, ive had it too long). The refresh frequency doesn't effect the fuzziness.
I've messed with all the settings, but can't seem to get it any clearer.....any ideas?

ok, i have 2 guesses
REMEMBER THERE GUESSES!!!
haha
anway... i've heard of these magnets things that are round shape of an 0 with the center cut out... and i guess you put them on your montor and its saposed to get rid of the purple thats on ur monitor when you put a magnet in the first place on it. (you know what i mean). now i've only heard of these, they may not even be true. and my other IDEA is the degaus... u said u fuged with ur settings, but i will say it anyway, try the degaus.
other than that, i'd say new monitor. unless someone else has any more iders

it Does sound like it's fading out.....as a last ditch effort, you may try taking it in to a shop and having it checked. Should be cheaper than replacing it.
Friend had one doing the same thing.......he upgraded to a newer, larger one, and gave his old one to his cousin. That was a year or so ago and the old one is still running, but still fuzzy.
You can try to degause it if your monitor has the option. Your monitor isn't next to something like a tv or something electrical?
if it does have the option to degause do it two-three times. hope this helps.
