New rig w/ GF3ti500 gets low frames

I've just assembled a new rig with the following specs. I have not overclocked yet, but I've installed the latest drivers. I am only getting 99 frames in Q3TA. :mad: Any suggestions?

Components:
AMD 1900+ (bridges not connected)
Abit KR7-Raid
2GB of 512mb Mushkin PC2100 DDR
Visiontek GeForce 3 ti 500
SB Live XGamer
(2) 40gb Maxtor 7200rpm IDE ata100 drives (NTFS on both)
Windows 2000 pro fresh install

Fans:
GlobalWin SAK38 cpu hsf (<-- won at [H] seminar!)
2 92mm (one of them is only milimeters away from the HSF)
2 80mm

PS - What temps whould I be seeing? I'm running 77-80 F in the case, and a consistant 100-102 F on the CPU. No higher than 104 F when under load. (then again, I'm not overclocking yet either).

Your load temp is right where is should be... no problems there.

As far as your Q3A benchy:
Have you loaded up the VIA 4in1 drivers after the OS install?
What resolution and color depth (16 bit or 32 bit) are you running at?
Do you have any of the antialiasing turned on for the vid card?

Yes, I just saw / thought about the AA and Synch thing. I haven't checked. Everything is factory default now. Will check when I get home.

Yes, I installed the 4in1 drivers, as well as the latest WHQL cert detonators.

Win desktop res is 1024x at 32bit.

Quake is set to absolute minimum. (same setup from back when I was trying to squeeze 40 frames out of my old PII 350 / voodoo-2 rig).

BAH!!! It was the stupid maxframes in Q3.
I am now hitting 300 frames no prob. :D

thats weird.. i have 2k pro also, and it works fine for me..

Could be, but I D/L'ed several other utils that will nto run or install either. :(

PS - The 300 frames is w/o OCing, but Q3 settings are set way low. (640x and cartoonish)

dude, i would turn your settings up to like 1600x1200 everything maxed out, because of the limitations of the monitor you will not see a difference between 99 and 300fps....

re-install windows.. that sounds liek a must,, if nothing will instill thats a bad sign.. your os just could crap out if you dont watch it
