I just put together a new rig wich includes an Abit KR7-Raid and two 40gb Maxtor 7200rpm ATA/100 drives.

I tried putting the drives in removable drive bays (i've always called these "kangaroo" bays, but some peeps dont know what I'm talking about when I say that), but the mobo would not recognize them. Said no drives existed.

I installed the drives w/o the 'roo bays, and it works fine. The bays are rated for ATA 33/66/100. The KR7-Raid is ATA 133 compat, but the drives are ATA 100.

Note that I am currently using IDE controllers 1 & 2 (non-raid).
I've already tried jumpering CS and Master/Slave.

Anyone else have this problem?
Are there any 'roo bays out there that DO work?

Thanks in advance!

I know what you are talking about, I have 4 of them on my KT7a-RAID. I have el cheepo ones and have not had any trouble with them. Some of the nicer ones have jumpers on the carriers, you might look and see. Other than that I am stumped.

Nope, no jumpers on the 'roos. And I've tried jumpering for both CS and Master/Slave on the HDs. :(
