Compaq ultra3 SCSI

My wife recently bought me a Compaq ultra3 SCSi drive 10K 36.4gig and I wanted to read some reviews of it to see if I wanted to RMA for another drive...anyone have any experience with this drive?

I can not see Compaq making a drive. I wonder who actually made it and was willing to see it sullied with the Compaq name.
Are there any model numbers or symbols to help us identify it?
