I've read the Q6300 might ship in June. Does anyone have any info on a ship date and expected price?

where did you here this? I wasn't even aware the chip was to be released. I believe they canceled the Q6400

I don't think the Q6300 has really solidified, but if I had to speculate, on or abouts July 22 and 183 dollars in 1000 unit quantity. But I haven't seen anything real definite that they're even going to release these parts into the wild. I'm just guessing, but I'm ussually pretty good at guessing these sorts of things

That processor aside, the scheduled 266 dollar Q6600 is steal enough, I'm trying to finish this rig right around june 1 so I can potentially bench it for the forum war and then sell it and get a quad, lol. My 183 guess is based on the "quads cost as much as a high end similar performing dual" in this case the Xtreme dual core is the same price as the 6600 so I figured the next dual down should come in around the same price as the Q6300 if there is one.

I'm pretty sure that's the Q6600.

I don't think there'll be a Q6300 or Q6400 ever, though I would absolutely love it if there were one (especially if it goes under $200 post-7/22). Hopefully that 8x multi Xeon sticks around and drops sub-$200...though I'd imagine it will stick closer to maybe $200-$220 after the price cut if I had to guess.
