View Full Version : ATA133 /w RAID 0 or ATA100 /w 8MB Catch
I just finshed building my system, now I am working on one for a friend. Which is faster, 2 ATA133 80GB Maxtors with a 2MB Catch and an onboard RAID 0 or a Western Digital 100GB Special Edition with an 8MB Catch. The size doesn't matter; just speed. Thanks.
i would go with the 2 80 gigs raided o (striping)

You can compare a bunch of different hard drive setups there and at the bottom of the page is a link to their article of the caviar se.
I would guess the raid 0 would be faster at reading but the caviar would be faster at writing.
