you're not going to give credit to slickdeals?

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=535063

also, these hd-dvd players don't do 1080p, or only more expensive ones do... ?

Crutchfield confirms that it only outputs in 1080i. Looks like im still going for the 360 addon.

I doubt you'd notice a difference unless your TV is 42" or greater.

while it does output 1080i..if your tv does 1080p, it'll show 1080p :)

All fixed pixel displays must scale incoming video to the displays native resolution, so if the display is native 1080, it will up-scale everything (except 1080 - obviously) to 1080

I own a Westinghouse 37w3, and its internal scaler isn't the best when handling 1080i content (or any interlaced content, really). The quality of 1080i input will depend on the quality of the display's built-in scaler.

This week at best buy you get the 360 HDVD drive, plus two movies, for $199.

Shipping is you drive, or take the bus over there, or walk... They got plenty.

Is it any 5 movies you want? Or is it 5 REALLY terrible movies (like cabin fever or cabin boy, possibly starship troopers 2????) they force you to get? If it's any 5 movies, that's $100+ by itself.
