[H]ard OCP is gaining on us, big time. We need a plan, a campaign, something...
I am maxed out, four comps...
Call in those favors! Siblings, family, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, whatever. Install the client and lets go!
Maybe you run it at work? Right? Then tell you buddies at work to run it too! #32!!!
I am going to talk to my family at Christmas...
Also, we need someone at a college, H.S., company, with some privileges. If I were still in college, I am sure I could convince the powers that be...
This will be a good start http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=389349#post389349
We should keep up interest in the recruiting thread in GD. If someone posts there every day with something it will help a lot, I think. When it gets to be too much we can delete it again and start over. I would post every day but it would look a little goofy. :) Then again I am left handed and goofy is the norm.
It's good to add our own systems, but it's even better when more people start helping us. The individual systems are far more valuable to our cause.
I was thinking about how well it worked when we were donating our machines and was thinking that we could do that again, maybe donating time to people who have passed a certain mark(say 50??) and for a shorter period of time, such as 24 hours. We may not be ready for that again, at least not yet.
It's time to get a FAH sweatshirt - Team 32 version. :) Getting too cold now for a tshirt. (need "brrrr" smiley with a frosty beard.)
Being a lefty, I take offense to that. Just kidding, seriously guys kick into gear. Lets fend em off a bit more, bring on some universities or schools folding that will level the field.

I just added to the GD, what do you think?
The t-shirt is a good idea, sweatshirts, too spendy...I wear t-shirts year round.
Fold, fold, fold...:)
Talk to your family and friends at holiday get-togethers...

I saw that post last night. Looks good. :D
I have two tshirts already. A sweatshirt may be in the future. :)
We could probably have Folding@Home shirts made up with the team name/logo. cafepress will do that, which is where the fah tshirts are coming from anyway.

I could sneak and install it on a PC at work that's running for display. It's a HP with a T-bird 1.4, no net connection, but considering I work nearly every single night I could pop a floppy in and out to transport the Wu's. Wonder if I'd get in trouble? My luck I would so I dunno if I'll risk it or not. The system is running WIN XP. It's a $868 computer with 128mn sdram and I didn't read what else. Nice monitor though. Be best to hide it if I try it, but it'd take more than a couple seconds to sopy, paste, and then edit to get it running hidden.
well like my post said I'm thinking of doubling up my system and getting a dually board so i'll have twice the folding power. that will probably happen the first week of feb. then i would have two p3 1ghz processors folding.:D

Yeah, a dually setup, that rocks...
Tithulta- Sounds good, but we don't want you to get into trouble either. Just a note- I'm not sure how well it would work and you may need to copy the entire directory. I think that files like the queue.dat are just as important as the work folder with this new client. but...If you won't get in trouble and it works then go for it. :)

After Christmas I should have another P3 box I'll be folding with. I'm building a watercooled P3 1.26 tualie box and I'll keep the other 2 comps folding also. Plus, Cox cable is supposed to be coming into the neighborhood in a month or 2 and I will get a cable modem and dig some older boxes out of storage to put folding when that happens. It seems like there are several people out there that have quit folding for some reason. I wish there was some way to motivate them. I just got back in from work an hour ago(8 days on job) and had left my Intel box up and folding while I was gone and I've moved up close to 50 positions while I was gone to work!

I've been thinking about upgrading my CPU from a P3 800 to a 1GHz. Perhaps I'll get a dualy board so I won't have to lose the 800. Hmmmm, I like the sound of that... Perhaps rigth ofter x-mas.:D
I've asked my father if I could install the client on his comp. No go. I'll just have to start building my own...
Fold on!!:burn:

I did this yesterday with the graphical client. I was setting up some new pc's and had let one fold overnight. I was done with it and ...well let me shorten this. I took work folder, queue file, fahlog and client.cfg file I think and put on one floppy. I had the program on another floppy. I installed program on new pc but chose option not to start program. I then copied data from other floppy to folding@home dir(overwrite if need be) under the program dir and started folding. It started the wu where it had left off and picked up the client config. I now have 4.133Ghz folding for our team under another alias for the weekend only. Keep your fingers crossed guys, I'm doing this on the sly:eek: I won't mention the alias but its moving pretty good ;)
The problem as I see is they have 434 folders we only have 379. They usualy have 60 more folders on line then we do. There prodution is about 284 W/U per day more than us. At this rate they WILL pass us on about January 20 2002. So what we need is about 95 more computers producing 3 W/U per day.
I'll set one up to day that means only 94 more to go.

Quick, somebody give me 500$ and I'll do it too:p Way to help pick up the slack Yobbzz.
This folder is praying for money for Christmas and bday. The wife doesn't want to hear about pc's anymore. She thinks I'm obsessed. Go figure;)

I'll have another box up in a few....uhm weeks or months, its hard to tell, but would a 486 100Mhz and a 486 xxxMHz help?
(With a bit of luck I can OC the 100 to 150, at least 120)
I also got a MAC but the NIC card is way too expensive (~$100:eek: ), is there another way I can let it fold?
BTW Should I get a AMD or a P4 (Northwood), I know.....guess I'll end up with a AMD (I like the challenge, but I've had some bad experience with AMD).

I wonder if it would be ok to send a small e-mail to some of those members whom are not producing. Some of the leader types of our little team may want to think 'bout that. I keep lookin at the percentage of members that are folding, they are consistantly over 50%, we are almost always under 50%. This is hurtin us.
Maybe we could take the top 10 folders that have 0 WU for the last week and send them a note. I don't know.

I'll see what I can do for the week that I have until then..
