well my cooling peltiere system is supposed to suck up 50watts max.

need to look up other parts ugh or buy a killawatt meter.

blah says load is 193 on opteron with a 7800gtx but opteron is default speed. i wonder how much the overclocked draw is.

so i arbitrarily say cpu/ram/mobo/soundcard = 250w load. gpu 100 w load. cooling 50 w load. so 400w /550w supply. how much do hard drives ,cd rom drives, and case fans suck up? and is 400 w load on a 550w supply too much?

my ps specs,

ac input 115/12a
dc output +5v +12v1 +12v2 +3.3v -12v +5sb
max 40a 19a 19a 32a 1.0a 2.0a
min 0.5a 0.4a 0.4a 0.5a 0a 0a

+5v +12v1 + 12v2 and +3.3v max.load 530watts
+12v1 and +12v2 max.load 36a

People reccomend a second PSU for your peltier..

Not for something like the Monsoon... it's only a 60W pelt.

On a Truepower yes, those caps are going to heat up and pop eventually. I would replace the PSU because the Antec Truepowers seem to die sooner rather than later when faced with a decent load.
