The Z series from ALPHA NOVATECH are a great starting point for making custom Northbridge, VRAM, GPU & even CPU coolers with a little bit of work. Aluminum construction with .35mm thick fins. Imagine the possibilities with either a custom copper or silver base.

those are nice.. ive been thinking about asking a company if they make me a all silver hsf for my northbrige or gpu or something.. but untill then i think ill invest in those silver crystal orbs.. those things are just awesome looking.. maybe thermeltake could custom make designs or different letters instead of there "tt" on it.. that would rock :)

Dissolved, A solid silver hsf isnt practical nor cheap, just add a silver base to it and have the superior thermal dynamics of the silver absorbing the heat and the annodized aluminum dispelling the heat from the silver base. My northbridge uses a Tennmax lasagna with a Silver Base as do my ramsinks.

Heres my latest creation, theSLORB (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51271)

Hey sonny,

You know whats cool about those Z series Alpha heatsinks?

Their width ranges from 30 x 30mm to 60 x 60mm and most notibly in these heights:

6.3 mm

9.5 mm

12.7 mm

The Alpha pal 15u which is my favorite GPU cooler heatsink is 15mm in height(+10mm for fan)

Yup! I got the spec sheet on them. I also like the PAL15U but from what I hear you need a stronger fans to make it perform which really isn't a problem:D

Imagine 4 X 40mm sinks to get a 80mm layout joined by a silver base & bolts on to the MoBo, with this duct(pic below) & a 80mm 80CFM DELTA EHE:cool:

Silversinksam - Have you worked with Cusil yet?

No I use Sterling Silver which is 92.5% Silver 7.5% copper

Cusil is 72% Silver 28% Copper

Cusil has superior thermal dynamics but Sterling is easier to procure. I was going to have my silver stock smelted and add 12.5% copper to the silver but never did.
