I think that it is still far more dependent on AR. Have looked through my Seti Spy Log, but it's hard to tell really, due to differences in WU's AR's ect.

Spikes don't have any impact to the WU crucnhing time, except in the case it detect very high spikes. Very high spikes indicate terrestial interference and usually causes the WU to become tagged as corrupted.

You can have lots of spikes and remain with the same WU time than another that has none.
