well anyways i was almost done then i finished building my new computer so i formated the drive to get the new computer running. Will the almost complete work unit resume if i use the same name/ group 32 or will i have to restart it?

Looks like you'll have to start over. If you formatted over the work it is probably gone. at 96/100 the wu wasn't finished and still lived on your hard drive. It doesn't send the work back until it's finished with an entire wu which in this case would have been 100/100 done.
