I have tried every driver out there for vista x64 and they all are crapping out on me. I get the error (video driver has stopped working) that goes on for a while, every few min. then eventualy it just crashes windows. The drivers in my XP x64 install seem to work just fine. Anyone ever hear of this or know a solution.
FYI my card does not overheat.

No offence, but that post achieved nothing.

To the original poster - The drivers for XP 64 are a different kettle of fish. Have you tried using plain old 32bit vista and throwing the same tasks at it? If that does fail, then it's likely a hardware DX10 error (Vista uses that even at the desktop). Try* searching for the latest ones, or even go back a few versions of drivers, making sure you use the 158 series. Though the drivers are funky in Vista, messing around might achieve something.

* = appropriate suggestion for a post.

well I have tried just about every driver I can get my mits on and some crap out faster or more often then others. Although they all do it enough that in a 10 min of using vista I want to throw my 8800 out the f-ing window. After viewing the nvidia forums I've discovered that it looks like they have monkeys writing drivers over there at nvidia. I am amazed at the amount of people having problems with these 8800's and vista. Looks like you get about 45-65 days then you get driver crashes like crazy. I don't know Im ganna mess around a little more but more than likely I will move over to p30 and ATI. I cant stand the poor drivers from nvidia. My 680i eats mem for lunch and my $500 8800 is almost as good as the 9800 pro I just sold....Awsome nvidia. way to chase another paying loyl cust, away.
