Pc2100

Was it a bad idea for me to get PC2100 ram?
i have a AMD XP-1600
it will be overclocked. Should i have went for some PC2300 or better?

Depends on what kind of PC2100 you bought. My Crucial PC2100 runs (at what I've tested it so far) 145 FSB at all the aggressive timings except 1T command rate. Cheap PC2100, however, will not overclock so well.
