Well, lets start with the most simple things:
1.check and make sure all wires (PSU, HSF) and memory, video card are all plushed all the way into their respective spaces. Make sure that the mobo power line is all the way.
2.Start switching things out with other pieces from an older computer or a friend. i.e.-other power source, memory or video card and isolate what piece exactly isn't working.
3. Make sure that the hsf is making contact before even thinking about turning it on.

First question...how are you sure the PSU works? i know you said its brand new...but did you use a Jumper on the Board Connector to se if the psu turns on ?
Second questoin....did u plug it in? :D j/k...and make sure the 110/220 switch is set in the correct posistion
I have a little switch on my PSU for on/off as well as the main system switch. Make sure it is | for on, not O for off.
Does the cable work (for the PSU, that plugs into the mains), check the fuse.
Is the main system switch connected properly?
Wow, a fellow Swede!
Man ser inte många sådana häromkring ;)

To Check the Power Supply without connecting it to the motherboard try this:
DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK (it really isnt that risky just I thought that disclaimer was in order)
Connect the Green wire to any of the 6 Black (Ground wires) from the ATX connector and the PSU would power up like it was connected to the motherboard Then plug in a fan or something similiar to one of the 4 prong molex connectors.

Before you went to power it up, was the green LED light on the motherboard on or off? Check this first. If it is on, then you are getting power, and I would start checking the power switch wires from your case to the motherboard, or make sure that the ATX connector is plugged into the board properly. If there is no green LED on the motherboard, then you are not getting power. This could be because of a dead power supply or a dead motherboard.
Good Luck.

Some good tips have been posted such as seeing if the mobo is getting power... If you replug the old PSU does it work?
What kind of mobo and psu is it?

???????plz answer!!!!!
thx!!!!? /marman
If the motherboard is getting power, I would start checking the connections. Is the power switch connector plugged in right? The power has to be the positive and the ground has to be the negative. See Diagram.

Make sure you seated the Ram in right. This could cause some problems. Also check to make sure your cpu is in right, and Fan mounted right. If you don't get video, make sure your video card is in all the way as well.
