Quick question on the Intel se440bx-2 mobo

Im looking to upgrade my brothers old computer. Its currently running a p2-400 on an Intel se440bx-2.

intel says these processors are supported:

But im wondering, can i run a faster, say celeron 800-1000 MHz, in an Asus sl370-dl slocket?

The Intel link shows it can run up to a PIII 850, which would be faster than a Celeron 800 and probably about as fast as a 1 GHz Celeron. But it's also on the compatible list for the PowerLeap Tualatin 1.2 GHz Celeron combo. So you might consider that if the PIII 850 doesn't grab you.

If it will run a P3 850, then it should be able to run a cD0 stepping P3 1000E on a slotket also.

Personally I would wait you don't have a good overclocking board if you got bux to blow now is the time to do it.
