I'd have to say for what your running those are fine. You always want to keep them below 50C. It`s possible to get them a little lower tho.
how many case fans? what kind of heat sink do you have?
those numbers sound ok - especially for 1.5G but I know we can get them lower!!

Hi AgEnT0140,
Personally I think that a Cpu temp is safe around 40 degree C @full load, so your temps are high, and especially if compared with mine: 32 degree C @idle & 38C @full load on a XP 1700+ @1.6Ghz 1.8v with an ambient temp of 20C.
Plz, can you give us more info about your cooling section?
My temps are kind of the same as AgEnT0140's.
Room temp is ~20C and case temp is usually at 23C. Still, the CPU runs at 47C load. I would guess a better heatsink is first priority for me, not better case fans, right?
<- still newbie :)

yes you want to start with heat sink - you have a great case temp and a high cpu temp...
what are you running now? - heat sink wise
Some old thingie I found in a drawer :D
SilentSystems Radial Fin, it says on the fan. Can't be very good.

Hi Sokkan,
Your case temp are really good, so you have to plan to go with a Thermalright SK6 with Delta38, a Millenium Glaciator II, an Alpha Pal8045, or a Swiftech MC462, but for the last two HeatSink you must check on the factory website the compatibility with your Mobo (possible room size prob).

i have really crappy air flow right now. i have a fan on the heatsink and an exhaust pci fan. thats it. i'm going to add a duct tonight that will direct room temp air onto the heatsink. i have a delta screamer in the front but i unplugged it cuz it was too noisy and didn't do much. i put it back to stock speed and it's at 40 right now. i'm pretty sure the duct will drop it a few. i put some more ac2 on it and tightened it.

Well, it's strange, coz your case temp is 3 degree up to the ambient, and the best setting is 1 or 2 degree C up.
You can consider to use a couple of 80mm fans rated for 40-50Cfm, one for the intake in the front/low, and the other one for the exhaust in the up/back. At this point if still not satisfied, you can add other 2 fans 80, 92 or 120mm, one on the left panel of the case that sucks fresh air directly onto the Pci/Agp slots, and the other one on top of the case that blows out the hot air.
I hope it helps you ;)
P.S. for the noisy Delta38Cfm you can mod the cable for a voltage of 7v, really confortable and very easy.
I was aiming for a Glaciator II, but I can't find any store/website in Sweden who sells them. Do you know any European site from where I can order one? I don't like oversea ordering

Really I don't know, Sokkan,
but try to take a look directly on the Millenium Thermal Solutions website here (http://www.millennium-thermal.com) for a reseller in your area.
I hope it helps you ;)

The Swiftech MCX462 doesnt have room problems on certain motherboards. Also, make sure you buy some Arctic Alumina or Arctic Silver 2 thermal COMPOUND (do not buy the adhesive for CPU's).
