View Full Version : Wireless rear speakers

I'm looking for a 5.1 system that has wireless rear speakers that plug into the wall separately because if they have to plug into something together I'll still have a power wire running across the floor.


**edit** I should probably have mentioned that I need a sound system that will fill a fairly big living room for movie watching.

Will this system work without a PC? I knowit's a PC website but I need it for a medium to big size room. **should have mentioned this in the first place**

What do you want to feed into it?

Here's what it has for inputs:

Source Inputs: 2 x digital optical, 1 x digital coaxial, 1 x 6-channel direct (3 stereo mini connectors), 3 x stereo-mini connectors, 1 x analog stereo-mini

So, it should have anything you need.

How big is the room? If it is too large, that system won't cut it. We have our rear speaker wires actually go under the floor. Not under the carpet (we have hardwood anyway), but actually under the floor. The wires go up to a terminal in the wall in the back and front of the room.

The room is pretty big as it's an open floor plan because it's an open area shared with the kitchen and dining area. As far as the tv watching area we sit about 12 feet from the tv and the rear speakers will plug into outlets putting them about 7-8 feet the couch.

your gonna want some big speakers... i have the same probably slightly bigger area in my house, we have a 30 foot long bar / kitchen area / dinning table / tv area. and it sounds AMAZING with the BIG speakers and HTR-5890 amp we have... all speakers are wired, i have never really seen an "amazing" set of wireless speakers, and for the size of room you are talking bout ur gonna want some big speakers.

i will run yamaha's YAPO mic tommorrow and get the measurements of speaker distances.... its amazing how damn accurate it is... within a coupla inches. maybe ill take some pics too.
