Got a question for you coolies, is there a way to add an 80mm fan to my glaciator 2? Any thoughts?

Hi ghengisjam,
Probably using a 60mm to 80mm plastic adapter screwed to the holes on top of the HeatSink used for the standard fan grill.
The Glaciator is really nice I wish they had an 80mm one but it would be too heavy to install with clips, need to mount to mobo.

I have to agree with you el,
its' for sure too much heavy with an adapter and an 80mm fan on top, even if for a great retain clip like that used on the Glaciator II, much better go with a blow hole on the left panel of the case and a duct :)
the sockets are made to handle two pounds but that doens't mean you should put that much weight on it.

92mm 66cfm in duct mounted to side panel. Temps were better by far though with the stock fan on the heatsink in addition to the duct.
Arkaine23 is right on the money. A "blow hole" works wonders with any HSF.

If you dont have holes in your side panel, you could flip your rear exhaust fan around and make a duct to direct the air at the glaciator.
More on my duct: Too much static pressure from the 92 to 60 adapter reduces the air volume considerably... Its a rubber pvc adapter, so I'll cut it up a little so its wider and then extend it (probably with a chopped plastic funnel) so that it blows over the entire heatsink instead of just through the top fan hole. Temps were 10 C higher with just the duct and fan. I tried a YS Tech 40 cfm 60mm in the Glac2, but it was sooooo loud and only 1 or 2 c cooler. Best steup now with the 92mm duct fan and the Glac's stock fan gives me 30C idle according to MBM.
