I bought a cpu fan and heatsink combo a while ago and can't remember from where. Anyway, today i noticed that my pc was quite quiet compared to other days. Seemed unusual, so i took a look. My cpu fan had stopped working and i don't know why. All i have to go by is the company who manufactured the fan which is Dynaeon Industrial. the stickers i have on my fan have 3 diff't model numbers: one sticker has DF1206BH; the other one has this DF1206BM then (DC1206BM) in parentheses. it looks exactly like this one http://www.dynaeon.com.tw/disk/DC1206BM-G/DC1206BM-G.html and the dimensions are 60x60x25 (mm) and a 38 cfm. I don't know the rpm and it has 7 fins just like the one on that website. one other thing is that it is powered by the pc's power and not by the motherboard (something about it needing more power). it's 12v @ 0.20 Amps.

one other thing is that the heatsink has 40 fins.

Please help me.

I'm sorry, but what is your question? Seems like you've answered everything yourself.

As Alex would say in Jeopardy, would you put that in the form of a question please?

Fans do just die like that sometimes. That's why we monitor temps alot.

It's easier just to replace the fan. It's probably cheaper too considering return shipping to get it replaced. Just hunt google.com if you don't have one of the right size (or a local store).

You could also get mod crazy, cut a hole in the door and mount a larger fan, and duct it to the bare heatsink.

Ok, as Diggrr already said, yup, fans do just die like that. He's also right about buying a new one. So try this place (http://www.sidewindercomputers.com) . They have a good selection of fans and you can listen to them to compare the noise level too.

P.S. Welcome to the forums

LOL That's why I like loud fans, I can tell when the fans die!

Anyways to the point you can easily replace your 60mm fan with something like a Delta 60mm which pushes 38cfm(almost about 1.6x that your old fan pushed which was 24cfm)..

Just make sure if your getting new fans which use alot of amp you'll need a 3pin to 4 pin connector, reason is because the 3pin takes too much amps while your mobo only supports something below it so you don't want to kill the mobo.

thanks guys.

I went out and bought a delta 38 cfm but i didn't get the 3 --> 4 pin adapter. I'll get it tomorrow. Thanks anyway.

And you know what the delta seems to be a whole lot more quieter than my old one.
