I was thinking about making a air chiller. What would be a good H.S.F. for a low price be for this. The pelt is a 80 watter. All I want is to get some cool air in to my case so I don't have to keep the window open ( the ol lady is cold blooded ).
Volcano 6cu+ for 14$ - the temps I got for the money was awesome!!!!!!!!!
Next my CAK38 droped an aditional 14F off my temps and it is all copper compared to copper insert/aluminum fins.
anything copper would be worth it... the SK6 is a popular one here.

So the Volcano 6 will get rid of the heat on the hot side. What about the new Volcano 7.
I have heard many good thigns about the VOL7
it has a 80mm fan instead of a 60mm
..... you can push more CFM with less DBA!
I don't know about cost on that though...

Here in town it`s $25. What about the Coolermaster DP5-6H51

if it has a copper inset with alum fins - it will make for a great combo!

Serendipity, I just made one of these last night! I have a Panaflo Orb moded with a YS Tech fan on one side and a Taisol CGK742 on the other. I can't decide which to make the hotside vs the cold or if I should use another HSF? It works either way with my 72W pelt. I was thinking of using mu glaciator but it's too nice of a HSF to muck up. I'll post a pick of my test rig tonight.

Didn't get to the pics last night. :( I will definitely post the pic of my take on an air chiller tonight. :)

Well here is my first attempt. I put a 72W pelt unside my case wuth a HSF sucking air over the cold side to cool the inside and a Panaflo Orb on the outside to cool the pelt hotside. No luck! The case just got hotter than before! I sitched the orb to the cold side and it still heated the case. I am guessing that the pelt is too weak to make an effective case cooler (72W) and that I need to figure out how to duct only the cool air to the case and have the hot air directed away from the cool air intake. I will puzzle on this and post if I get any success. A few initial ideas are the ducted cold air idea I mentioned or maybe a water inline water chiller?

Beware of condensation.
I would just get a SK6 to get some good cooling from peltiers since I wouldn't recommend using peltiers without water cooling..
Because condensation can happen just keep that in mind.

My rig is water cooled right now but I haven't tried to include a pelt in the water cooling part yet. I was just experimenting with pelt case cooling. Last night I had an idea. I could mount the pelt on my rad to cool it directly and then I cool the hotside with my panaflo orb or another hsf. I'll give htis a try if I get some free time and post the results.

Or you could build something like this:

with the peltiers, cold sides in, and blow the air through it. That way its frigid. I would still be worried about condensation.
