I have come to realise that overslockers.com people are geniune upfront and straight to the point. Over the months I have read with true fondness and now I am appealing to all you people outthere to help me help a little boy who is dying of Lukemia.

This will be this little boys last Christmas and all he wanted for Christmas was a computer. His parents found the money to buy him one but could not get enough money for that much software.

The company where I work has set up an appeal for donations of pc software and pc games.

Whatever you donate will be truly appreciated. We all have games and software that we no longer play with so how about doing something really wonderful with them?

If you can help please email donations@tlccomputers.co.uk

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please please give a game.

I guess I'm just a cynic, but this story sounds very familiar. Wasn't there a kid in GB that wanted business cards sent to him from around the world? Then as millions of cards poured into the boy's house, it turned out to be a fairy tale, and the family begged people to quit sending cards.

Again, sorry to be a cynic, but did any of the mods check this out? Is it real?

If a mod "officially" checks out the story and approves it, I've got lots of games I can send.

His name is Paul Hunter.
He lives in near Nottingham in the UK.
He is for real.
He is a lovely little boy, I can post a picture of him but I must check with his parents first.

I have a ton of stuff ! But first: how old is he?I don't want to send stuff
(like games) that would not be acceptable cause of his age.

You are a star!

He is 10 years old. His parents do not want him to have blood and guts games though. His favourite things are:- Winnie The Pooh, Homework, Sims and computer games. That's what he said anyway.

:o)

I am a moderator and like RED Hot Machine stated Traz is a friend of mine, however my views may not be endorsed by overclockers.com and as such in the capacity as a moderator for this forum I can not 'approve anything' however on a personal level I would like to make the following remarks.

I do not blame anyone for being a cynic, while I have not personally met Paul, I do know that they are friends of Traz's who is responsible for this appeal and from what I know about Traz, I choose to believe that this is real however I can offer NO proof. I do also understand that you all have no knowledge of Traz as a person unlike myself and as such the appeal is hoping for nothing more than good faith. I would like to point out however that Pauls family have enough money to buy a PC and never actually asked for help, it was Traz who decided to try to do something, and from the efforts I have seen, I have no doubt that she believes in this cause totally and that is good enough for me.

But heres a good suggestion for cynics amoung us, why not find your old hardware and software and give it to a local charity shop, hospital, shelter, poor neighbourhood family, school or another needy person who could make use of it.

Then we can all share in the knowledge that this year we made a difference :D

If giving to a worthy cause-ANY worthy cause-is in your hearts this holiday season, then please do so. This appeal seems genuine, and I do not think that any harm will be done by posting it here. What you, the members, do with it is up to you.

As UnseenMenace has stated, this is not officially supported by Overclockers.com. Neither is ShadowÒÓ's annual charity computer build. Giving should come from the heart. Give, or don't give, according to your wishes and means.

I hope that Paul Hunter of Nottingham has a memorable holiday and that he remembers it for many, many years to come. If you can't or won't help in this or any cause, perhaps a prayer of hope and healing can be sent instead.

Cheers,

Anthony
