I am planning to put a crystal orb on my gf2ultra. I am scared that the ASII will short something out on my vid card. I have also heard that ASII some times just leaks out onto the card. Should I use my tube of ASII or use the silicone goop?  :eh?:

Just dont use a whole lot of ASII, use the recommended amount of layer 0.003" to 0.005 thick (Equal to the thickness of about 1 sheet of standard weight paper.)

On the core you dont really have to be overly concerned about leakage if you use the recommended amount.

Now you need to worry about leakage if your putting ASTA on the ramsinks, I recommend ONLY using Arctic Alumina Adhesive.

I took an old card I had laying around and I purposly put a dab of arctic alumina adhesive on the ram pins and low and behold nothing dramatic happened. ( I dont recommend you try this at home ) I cleaned up the pins with alcohol and a scalpel the best I could and that satisfied my curiousity. (The only factor I didnt encounter is that the Arctic Alumina Adhesive wasn't fully cured and was still in the hardening phase)

Everything should work fine just that one tip:

DON'T BE IMPATIENCE AND SLOPPY

If you be sloppy and impatience you will whip some onto the cards surface running into the memory and other stuff on the card..

And use a little if it does get on the card clean it off and let it dry!

Yah, I wrecked one card with ASII. ASII on GPU=fine. ASII on RAM=not worth the risk.

lol, you've wrecked alot of stuff i guess.. i really think u need to learn to do things better, cuz it sounds like ur not going things the right way if you killing all these parts..

if you tape the leads on the ram be4 u put the ac2 on, then ur fine..
u tape all the ram sinks up, do the 50/50 mix of ac epoxy/ac2 and then put in on the ram then put ur sinks on.. and use alot of pressure, then once it drys (like 30mins or so later) just rip the tape off.. and bam your done.. worked easy as pie for me, and i was scared to do it :)

yea.. and i did use Alot of ac epoxy, and i got it everywhere, and after it dryed most of it got ripped off due to the tape.. if i had a digi cam i would have loved to give a step my step (maybe i could of made overclockers.com front page :sighs: )

so ASII isn't leaky? BTW how do I apply pressure to the ram sinks when the adhesive is drying?
