I ripped the H/S of my ram and it is micron D9GMH not spec-tek-3's like the ramslist says..So i guess the list is wrong or they switched up

Good find. You should start a thread in the Cyber Deals section.
So just how well do they overclock?
And speaking of overclocking, I see that the L709A did not disappoint. Looks like a very nice proc!

The Geils OC pretty well. They are not spectacular but DDR2 1040 @4-4-4-12 with 2.3v is pretty good. But They dont do much better after that 1080 at 5-6-6-18 is best i could get out of them But i was afraid to push any voltages higher than 2.3v
Yeah my E6420 is a nice chip. Ive had it to 3.7ghz with 1.55v.

1.5+ GHz overclock ain't anything to complain about, that's for sure.

you need to update your sig! and if your running anything over pretty much 2.1v get a fan of that ram if you want it to last.
my geil's -
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=497600
model: GX22GB6400UDC
max clocks:
ddr2-892 (446mhz) @ 2.2v 5-5-5-15 (set in bios)
ddr2-930 (465mhz) @ 2.2v 6-6-6-18 (set with memset)
Your UDCA's must be a new revision. Also, geil's website says these sticks should run 4-4-4-12 900mhz, so i'm wondering what i'm doing wrong...maybe i need to finally do that 2.3v mobo mod.

520mhz @ 4-4-4-12 w/ 2.3v stable?
If I get 4gb's of this, will it still have the same effectiveness as 2gb's?
If I get 4gb's of this, will it still have the same effectiveness as 2gb's?
you mean if you get 4x1gb sticks instead of 2x2gb... i think with a p35 mobo it still kicks ass with 4 sticks... someone correct me if i'm wrong...

Well i cant say 100% but i gamed with it at those settings and ran 3dmark06 and completed OCCT with no problem. And about 6 hours of memtest

Sig is updated.Im running OCZ's.I wouldnt have pulled the spreaders if i didnt have anothers set of ram(the geils are my backup set but maybe it should be the other way around.).I had a feeling these geils were D9 but everyone was saying Spectek-3 IC's

Young man didn't I tell you NOT to let the cat out of the bag :-/
Now the GEIL will sell out with the Micron chips and whereas I could have run 4GB to 1100MHz the other IC's won't match.
Just kidding I forgive you, but rest assured some of the smartest Overclockers don't "kiss and tell" until they've got all the Booty they can get :)
Words of Wisdom from Felix the Cat's Lab assistant who obviously gets shocked once in a while, but they love that "do" in the Beverly Hils.....

These modules have gone up in price since your OP.
They are now $107, plus $5 shipping, less $10 MIR for a net cost of $102.
That's a 25% jump in just two weeks. Still a good price however, if they are continuing to ship with Micron D9GMH.
More evidence in support of the view that the low point in memory prices is behind us.

I just got another kit, because the ad still says CL4-4-4- from 1.9V ~ 2.4V this is indicative of Micron D9 since the newer IC's do not run as low as 1.9V nor as high as 2.4 V IMHO
I think Newegg purchased a huge amount of these. My first kit ran me $99 wih a $25 rebate this kit cost $106 with a $10 rebate. That's $164 for a 4GB kit (4x1GB which OC's better then 2x2GB) the least expensive kit of 4GB is a kit of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144072 which are another hot GEIL product

I wouldn't be afraid to give them 2.5v as long as you had air moving over em.

I was only kidding when I said "I told you not to divuldge the info..." it's all cool man I'm glad were on the same page this is great memry.
I also respect the fact you contacted GEIL to find out heir now making this kit with different IC's. I'm simply taking a gamble the kit I just ordered are form the same batch of Micron built sticks.
Funny thing is Golden Emperor own one of the largest Fab's in Chia I'm surprised their out-sourcing IC's? Guess it was cheapr to assemble these in the USA with Micron right across the street. In the last five years GEIL moved their headquarers from China to the USA, but their largest facilit is still in China (I think).
By the way their new Black Draon is really hot stuff tey sell 4x1GB kits of DDR2 800 for $269, and had I known I may have just bought that. It's really cool lookin wih the eyes of the dragon having red LEDs in them. Plus they are now "insulated" by heatsinks. IMHO there's not a heatsink on the market that makes ny sense.
Only Corsair wih thei extra large heat spreaders which ar expoxied dirctly to the IC's make any sense. Large surface area, direct contact with thermal epoxy. All the heat-pipes in the world don't matter if your using cheapo tape to seal the deal.
Without Heatspreaders you can cool your memory much more effectively.
The only thing I mght consider are water-cooled memory, but to be honest I hate heatspreaders, they were initially placed on memory to protect them not cool them, despite the name.

I saw on GeILs forum that the Golden Dragons are using Micron IC's.But they were orignally using Eplida IC's

Mine arrived today most unexpectedly and early. Lets hope it's the same IC's as the first kit. So know it's 4GB "The power of 4"
and think you can have a 4GB kit for less then $164 of CL4-4-4-12 800MHz overclockable to 1200MHz at 5-5-5-15

I will and I will.
Sorry I couldn't hear ya earlier ):
I have ran a Knoppix CD which has at least given me access o the HDDs that were corrupted with Linux and NTFS files systems during overclocking.
I also have a 160GB Segate Barracuda 8MB cache OEM donated to me so I will be popping out those bad 80GB Seagates I wanted to use for RAID.
I'll fix those drives, they just need loving care. I washed them today in warm oapy water, let them soak. I hear this really helps "Clean" the data.
I also have been soaking the 5600 donated to me in the same soapy water. But then I freaked out and realuized perhaps I should not have let the CPU soak in the same water as the HDD's?
EDIT: I'm goig to wash the GEIL too, I've heard this removes any static charge...

Just be sure to use soap that doesn't leave a residue...or you'll be left with that nasty ring-around-the-resistors.
If those newegg GEILs are still shipping with D9s I may have to break down and pick up a set.

Thanx for the advice I remove the IHS and run cold water under there after I'm done.
I'm also working on a dry ice system but I can't figure out why the paper towels are freezing.

For the sake of others...I give. :)
No more punography from me (in this thread, that is).
i picked up a pair of these last week because they were $50 for 2gb after MIR!!!!
this is the highest i could go: 1016mhz 2.4v set in bios (2.35v shown) (i didn't play with the timings at all, i just set them to max everything)
