All I want to do is set up shared internet connections amongst, at the moment, 2 computers. There will be another two in the near future. So I bought a Linksys 4 port router.

Here's the story...
I typed in the hardware IP thing to configure it on my computer, and I am on the internet right now, working fine. For some reason it keeps disconnecting me from mIRC, but I'll save that for a later time.

The other computer that I want to connect is an old Gateway p2 300 Mhz comp. For some reason, I cannot get the hardware's default IP to work. I can't get to the configure screen, I can't connect to the internet on it, it just doesn't work and I have no idea why. I am 99% sure I followed directions right. Does anyone have any ideas? I bought this thing to share internet, and it doesn't even share the internet and I am aggravated right now. Thx in advance...

I don't know what I did, but after fiddling with this thing for about 3 hours I FINALLY got it to work. Hooray for shared internet! :)

I'm assuming that you're problem with mIRC is that you can't get past the identd requirement. In order to do so, you need to forward port 113.
