View Full Version : P2608 BSOD
Hello all.
I was just wondering if anyone has noticed a problem with with smp project p2608? It could be a coincidence by I finished a 2608 on June 16 and another yesterday. And upon finishing the WU the computer immediately BSOD'd. This is the only time it's ever happened, never when I'm folding other project numbers... nor during the actual work. Each of the 2 times it crashed was just after it finished 2608 as it was attempting to send results. like i said, just wondering if anyone else has noticed stranged happenings with 2608.
thanks!
nope ... haven't had a bsod for a long time ... mostly cuz most of the rigs are linux these days :D
I have had freezes on the linux boxes but mostly on 2 quad rigs.
I have not correlated any of my freezes to 2608 tho and i have crunched quite a few of them.
Have also run them without problem (other than they are slow wu's) on my 2 wxp boxes.
hrmmmm.... lol i think i'm gunna wait some more and see what happens. i don't wanna go wild goose chasing hardware / mem problems, etc.. that might not really exist, because I have been crunching any other SMP wu's just fine, without a problem, and have had incredible overall system stability since I found it's oc sweet spot a couple months ago.
It's working on a 2610 right now, but we'll see what it picks up tomorrow for a new wu.

I haven't had a 2608 BSOD on me, but thats the only SMP work unit that I've had trouble with, the ppd is significantly less on my lappy, and I've had 2 or 3 of them that have been unable to finish.
On a different note, I keep trying to stay ahead of you, but you're steadily gaining on me! Must find more rigs! Fold on!

You'll be successful at that this week because I just received word about on hour ago from home that someone in my house using my main (SMP) rig, downloaded something they shouldn't have and ended up with a pretty bad piece of of malware. At the moment my SMP rig pretty much temporarily crippled, or so I'm being told... so she's shut down at the moment, when i get home from work i'll be working on that to see what happened. Gunna be a day or so behind SMP folding this week because of that, so you can breathe a bit easier....... for now!
Fold on!!! :burn:
speaking of steadily gaining! How about Nucligator and Nosifer! Wow! looks like we've gained some nice additions to the T32 folding powah there! (too bad they're gunna blow both of our doors in..... fast :p)
