Seen a review by a regular comedian on newegg? Or something about a product so terrible its funny? Someone just word their Pros and Cons in a strange way?
This one on a powmax powersupply is one of my alltime favorites
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817163033
Pros: The metal in here you can scrap for nickels and dimes.... Also great heavy weapon. Helped me rob corner shop.
Cons: Powmax stands for the sound it makes when you plug it in. POW!!!
and another one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182001
Pros: i have no pros. this thing sucks
Cons: The power supply bursted into flame within the first 10 minutes of use. I smelled a horible smell and wooosh, it cought fire and melted the top of my case and fried my cpu. DONT BUY
Other Thoughts: i used this supply as a temporary replacement on a customer pc. (i build gaming pc's). The supply worked for all of 8 minutes. The thing burned up my customers pc all together. PAY SOME EXTRA CASH FOR A SUPPLY THAT WONT BLOW UP!.

The bottom one I have a feeling the guy is going too far when the power supply probably just smoked and quit and not catching on fire thats hard to believe.

yeah in order for it to melt anything the guy would have to have left it plugged in long after it started to burn.

the reviews are for 2 different powersupplies. the first is a powmax and the second is a $12 Rosewill. I put the links in the original post.
Another Powmax

Pros: It's shinny, my hamster probably liked the color of it. I could throw it 400 feet into the air it weighs like 1 ounce.
Cons: Broke after 2 minutes. Blew up in my case. I'm pretty sure my hamster produces more power running on its wheel than this bad boy. Complete piece of junk.
Other Thoughts: I called up the company to tell them to test their products before putting them out. I believe this thing could have killed me
Pros: It fit the case.
Cons: Just got 8 more to replace burnt out ones. 1st one lasted 30mins, 2nd one thru sparks when powered on, none of the other 6 lasted more than 4 hours most 2hrs. Of the 30 Powmax micro cases we have, I've had to replace the power supplies close to a 100 times!
These are the strangest. If you've already had a bad experience not once...but twice, why would you continue to keep buying the same cheap crap and endanger the rest of your hardware?

Yeah doing a refund is the same thing as doing a replacment RMA except when they get it they check it and put the money back onto your credit card and its done.

:( you missed the best powmax review of all time:
Review title: best power supply ever
Pros: This power supply owns your fase off. Every once in a while it shoots flames out the back grill. The first time my friends saw it happen they were like, "whoa you rule!" One time I was at a LAN party and totally owning fools playing CSS. I got a rad headshot and this PSU started smoking and i was like this is satans power supply! at that point i knew i was in love with it. I tested the 12v line and it was putting out 15V, how sweet is that??? thats like 3 extra volts of pure power, which is I'm sure is totaly upping my megahurts. Oh yeah and at least once a day this thing will make rad noise like an electric guitar wailing. If your hardcore, this PSU is for you.
Cons: None at all. this thing weighs only like 1/2 pound so your LAN rig is way easy to carry. I cant even believe how sweet this thing is.
Other Thoughts: This power supply is for true hardcore overclockers! if you had problems with it before its only because you dont even know what you are doing!!!!

SteveLord/Mathersalan: Because doing a refund with NewEgg they'll charge you 15% for "restocking". IMHO they really shouldn't be restocking broken merchandise... and it takes 15 minutes arguing on the phone to get them to waive the restocking fee.

I am almost positive that the guy was being funny. Written too well with attention to what makes a crappy power suppy, albeit in reverse.
i saw this on newegg somewhere on the ati reviews and a guy said
Pros: Plays games extremely well and there is nothing bad about it
Cons: It doesnt support sli which i thought was required on all new video cards
Other Thoughts: If you want sli dont buy this card as it does not support it

I need to copy powmax and make a PSU company. Only instead of faulty 500 WATT units I plan to sell 15 MEGAWATT units made entirely out of scrap aluminum, airplane glue, and pinecone parts. I plan to base my factory in China to avoid certain prosecution.
Pros: Fits many cases/setups (because the fan is inside).
Cons: Burned out after only two months (while the computer was turned OFF ?!). Some components carbonized completely. Really noisy for the power it delivers and on top of that it doesn't even run cool. It doesn't have all the screwholes necessary for matx psu compatibility, I had to drill a hole in my Ahanix D5 case to make this thing attach properly.
Other Thoughts: I don't think this PSU has a fuse at all (it shouldn't even be allowed to sell) or any protection circuitry whatsoever.
--------------
Pros: EVEN For Free this is a bad deal!
Cons: took longer to install than it lasted
Other Thoughts: if this is all you can buy you should stop using a pc or you could just jump off a bridge
Q: How can a company that doesn't care about its customers stay in business? Preying on the weak, apparently.

More Powmax hatred:
Pros: Looks good, but so does Jessica Simpson and you see how well she works.
Cons: Blew out after 1 day of use. This was an improvement over the first time I had this product but still not much.
Other Thoughts: I had RMA'd the first unit I recieved after it subsequently blew out after installation. The second unit just proved to me that this is a real piece of cr ap.

ive bought $29 ones before. Ive never had a single problem with either of the 2. That is before i started to overclock and become real big computer enthuastist. Though my most recent one was around 60-70$ and it works flawlessly and I overclock pretty decently too.
Next build i may look into something more long term potential though

I bought a $39 400W for a standard home system for someone that does little but not a lot of gaming.. but it was a FSP... Good PSU powered the AMD X2 3800+ system with a mini atx mobo, 1gb ram and a geforce 7300 GT PCI-E.. All works fine for a cheapy..
And I also bought a 250W $20 PSU for my old AMD 2500+ that is OCed to a 3200+ that uses onboard graphics two years ago and it still works today
I think its just powmax, coolmax, rosewell and dynpower with the bed rep on power supplies.. The $20 one is an Alice Global

I saw one recently on a headset. Said something like
Other Thoughts: Put a vice on your head and squeeze until blood comes out of your eyes...then you'll know what this headset feels like.
Here's what you do, you go out and buy 20-30 of that brand PSU, hook them up to a delayed circuit that will power them up individually at 90 second intervals, wait for whatever day is the national holiday for your country, go outside with your daisy-chained PSUs and enjoy the fireworks.
Make sure you buy a quad core and a couple of 8800ultras/2900xt's for each psu as well to load em up good. :D

APEVIA ATX-CW500WP4 ATX 500W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, CSA, TUV, CE - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148027)
Pros: Good Power Supply 2 Sata plugs Resonable Price Pretty Light Long Coords
Cons: Failed after 1 week of average useage.
Other Thoughts: I had this power supply for about 1 week and last night I turned off my computer and went to bead then I saw a flash from my PC roomn with a loud POP like a light bulb just died. I looked around in the room and smelt burning. I checked all the outlets then relized it was coming from my compouter. I tried to turn it on and no go, it died in its sleep, what a way to go. You heard me the computer's PSU was off but managed to DIE when everything was turned off. I dont think all of Apevia's PSU's are unreliable but in this case mine lasted for 1 week and now im going to return it for a new one hopfully it will change my mind about Apevia's PSU's. ALso, I will be irrate if it ruined my PC (cpu/mobo etc) hopfully newegg makes this right. I have invested alot of money into them before.

i had one of these powmax before in an old computer that i lan partied with. it worked great for like 8months, than i swamped graphic cards with someone that had a higher end one (and required extra 12v power plug) and sparks came flying out of the psu. i think in all these cases, people were just using high-end, power hungry computers, with cheap psu

Reminds me of a soldering iron I bought at a dollar store. Plugged it in and the glue connecting the wires melted and started smoking. It's kind of ironic that a soldering iron would fail due to lack of soldering.

I had it happen on my ex fiancees Gateway that she bought new. By the time I made it across the room, unplugged it and then made it back with a fire extinguisher, it had visible flames coming out of the PSU.
/she got mad when I told her she should have let me build one instead.

Found another one. Was looking at server boards just because Im bored, and found this. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128020) I dont know if this has any impact, but notice how under CPU type, it says "OPTERON" Now take a look at the reviews. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16813128020) Not finding it? Heres a hint: Look at the Cons of the second review. Still not getting it? HE TRIED TO PUT AN X2 6000+ EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS FOR OPTERONS. I thought it was funny. And if it would work, tell me, I dont do mobos :)
And if it would work, tell me, I dont do mobos :)
Should work. It is socket AM2, and you can get Semperons, Athlons, and Opterons that will fit.

Cons: Noisy like the old HDD, sometimes when booting up drive makes a click sound and takes 5min to load win xp.

Pros: It's 10,000 rpm!
Cons: The two different HDs that I got both only had 131 GB...C'mon! My 250 GB drive is only off by 12 at 238GB, I paid a lot of money for this HD and got ganked with the amount of space missing, I understand that sectors go bad, but 19 gig in a 150? That's over the regular ratios I believe. Anyway, since I got two in a row, Newegg just refunded me.
Other Thoughts: I'm bummed I didn't get a drive that actually had 150 GB or at least something close to it. I was really looking forward to it, even if it was pretty expensive

Yeah, half the people on Newegg don't realize these 2 things:
1. Windows XP SP1 or earlier limits you to something like 127GB.
2. Windows uses a different calculation system than the manufacturers. Windows uses binary, manufacturers use decimal. I probably ranted about this somewhere else on these forums too.
And that's why I don't trust Newegg reviews.

I can't believe there are guys out there buying these $25 power supplies.
my dad bought a 300w $19 psu 3 years ago, worked all fine till one day i smoked it, but yeah i wont buy those cheapo psu's anymore..too dangerous
Pros: This is an amazing processor if you do actually do multitasks. (How many people really do this, and how much time do you really save?) But if you’re a gamer, and that’s your main area of expertise, I would stay away form this.
Cons: This is my very 1st Intel processor, and I can honestly say that I am very disappointed. I read the reviews, not only in new egg, but other online sites, and magazines, expecting to get this blazing fast Intel processor that blows everything away. I just bought a new computer, (see specs below) with windows Vista, and the very 1st thing I did was D/L all 3 of the FutureMark3d programs. I was about to cry when I was watching the CPU tests during the Mark3d-03 progress. My average FPS for just the CPU test was a lousy 60, for a 2003 graphic engine. In the 2005 test, I was about to go to the bathroom, scoring a 35 FPS for the CPU, and I am not going to mention the 2006 test. My old Athlon 3200+ in the CPU tests scored much lower, mind you that; the processor was FIVE YEARS OLD!
Other Thoughts: People are giving these processors 5 stars for it speed, and its easy overclock ability. But I say this; IT’S ONLY A 2.4GHz. Yeah it has 4MB cache, big deal. AMD’s dual core processor that’s rated at 2.4Ghz is only 125 bucks, for the 64 x2 4600. AND IF IT IS SO EASY TO OVERCLOCK AND SO STABLE WHY ISNT IT RUNING STOCK AT, LETS SAY 2.8-3.0Ghz? If you’re strictly a gamer like me, and afraid to ruin or damage your computer to make it a little bit faster, and kill your warranty, get the AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ which is running at a stock 2.8Ghz for the exact same price, yeah you lose the multitasking a little bit, but you don’t have to “overclock it to make it faster” for single processes like for gaming. If you’re thinking about getting this, please think again if your mainly a gamer; or IM me at “thejuiceisback” Here are my specs: Windows Vista, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Apevia 600W PSU, Asus P5N32-E nForce 680i, 1GB PC6400 DDR2/ Corsair XMS2 Xtreme Memory, NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS 256MB

powmax yet again:
Pros: It was a 450W power supply.
Cons: I turned on my computer. It was on for 20 minutes. Then it shut off by itself. I tried to turn it on again and it actually blew flames out the back and my house smelled like burnt electronics for 4 days.
----------------
Pros: CHEAP but you get what you pay for!
Cons: POWMAX could be a very successful popcorn company. Thats usually what happens with their power supplies, they go POP.
Other Thoughts: Over a 3 year period some POWMAX towers I've sold are on their third power supply.

review on e6600
Pros: fast
Cons: after running it for 2 days I could not stand the high pitched whine the fan was making any longer. It broke my heart to send this $$$ back, but for the money I should get a quality fan and not one that is losing it's bearings.
Other Thoughts: I can't wait to get it back.
returns a e6600 for the fan noise :S, and now he wants it back again
Pros: Upgraded from an Intel Pentium D 935 Presler (at least I thought it was an upgrade).
Cons: This chip runs so hot, you could fry eggs on it. Runs too slow.
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money.
and this one cracks me up
Pros: NONE, this is no faster than any other single core processer out there there isn't any software or any operating system that utilizes dual cores all software is a single thread program
Cons: you all got conned by intel lol If your framrs per second are faster it's because you upgraded your video card and memory 3.2 prescott is faster than this
Other Thoughts: Save your money until they come out with software for multiple threading to use a procrssor utilizing more than one core by time they do that they will have 80 processers on one chip
he says a 3.2ghz prescott is faster then a e6600 :P

Pros: I've been building systems for about 15 years and have never been more impressed with price/performance point of these chips. It is nothing short of amazing what you can get for under $300. I have been able to get my GO over 5.6, stable on air, with very little effort. I run it at 3.3 24/7, never gets over 55 degrees
Cons: Needs a quality aftermarket heatsink, does not OC as well as the duals and runs hotter
Other Thoughts: Be certain to match the rest of your components or you will not see good results, PSU, RAM and MB all need to be top quality to get the most out of this chip.

This is the 1st review for a Kingstong DataTraveler 1GB...
Pros: The price is very good. I like the gloss black color. Print speeds are good when not in the highest resolution. Paper feeder has fed perfectly without a hitch so far. Software is rather full-featured but I guess that is the standard these days.
Cons: It's pretty loud. I even put it in their quietest mode and it's still noisy. Print speed on full resolution is terrible. No paper catcher tray, just spits papers right out onto your desk.
Other Thoughts: I'd say if noise, the lack of a paper catcher, and slow high-res print speed doesn't bother you, get this printer. It's still a fantastic deal and just putting it one notch below highest resolution yields great quality printing with a much better print speed.
I'm still trying to figure out where I put the paper in this drive!!
Oh, man. The fourth post on the first page from SteveLord made me laugh until it hurt!

Pros: ...I could throw it 400 feet into the air it weighs like 1 ounce.

Pros: Well, If you're honestly putting one of these into a machine then you must not care about that machine much, therefore when it blows and fries your motherboard you're probably not losing anything important. That's almost a pro...
Cons: I put one of these into a computer that was by no means power-intensive. When I hit the power switch, the 1 case turned about half a time around and this thing never did anything after. I though I might have had the voltage switch on 230v by mistake, but sure enough upon checking this thing had actually died after less than one and a half seconds of use.

My Wife wonder why I read Newegg reviews Daily..
Check out the video card section peeps! ;)
**Pros: Works great in my back-up PC.
Cons: Will not work in my main PC.
**
There was another review, the egg took the card off the Database.., I believe it was a HIS card smoking catching fire in the machine... Throwing sparks out the back..
As I read these "reviews", I sometimes wonder if "some of these" people even have business plugging a Light Cord into the wall socket.... Much less doing it..
I've had total over 10 years...
1
count'em 1 RMA and that was a Barton CPU rma'ed too AMD after 2 years..
I bought the "Infamious" coolmax 500W PSU, that after rebates was free.. People scorned me over that purchase..
Well, It's STILL chugging along a year later....
So take these reviews with a grain of salt, though they ARE fun too read! :P
No one posted AS5 yet?
I knew too many of these already...
Pros: AC5 is by far and above the best thermal compound I've ever used. Much better heat transferrence than anything Thermaltake, Zalman, or anyone else puts in with their sinks.
Cons: Mildly conductive, so be careful of those traces. Arctic Ceramique might be safer for applications that are close to circuits, since it's completely non-conductive. Also tastes NASTY.
Other Thoughts: If you are holding the tube between your teeth while working, after you apply the AC5, put the cap back on BEFORE you put it back in your mouth.
***
Pros: Combined with a Thermaltake hs/fan I got my 2.6c @ 3.3Ghz while staying around 32C.
Cons: It tastes really bad and it does nothing for my contacts.
***
Pros: Premium Formula. Highest Thermal Conductivity around. Better than OEM paste (as it actually contains silver).
Cons: Doesnt work well with my air conditioner, nor as a salad dressing.
Other Thoughts: Got some on my finger, now my body temperature is 10-15 degrees lower. How do I explain that to my doctor? LESS IS MORE!! USE ONLY TWO RICE SIZED GRAINS (UNCOOKED) WORTH OF ARCTIC SILVER ON THE CENTER OF CPU. SPIN AROUND A FEW TIMES UNILL YOU HAVE A QUARTER SIZED CIRCLE IN THE MIDDLE. DONE AND DONE.
***
Pros: Exceptionally good thermal conductivity -- does its job
Cons: Too thick to spread easily on a Ritz
***
Pros: lowerd CPU temp 5 degrees, and lowered GPU almost 10 degrees.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Other thoughts... hrmmm well its snowing today 03/23/06 in MN.

Pros: It came with a mixing wand...
Cons: well....you have to mix the two different compounds together really fast before it dries and becomes the super-glue of the next generation. when you mount the processor and the fan together with this thermal compound, they arn't going to come appart.....I ripped my old procesor in two trying to get the fan off of it when I upgraded my processor.
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for extra-strength super glue, you have come to the right place!

Pros: Long! Out of sheer curiosity I took a tape measure to the two I needed (I bought in bulk because it was cheaper) and found both to be longer than 18"" overall (try nearly 20""). Flexible, bright red, work great.
Cons: Shipping would have been nuts if I wouldn't have ordered 'em with a bunch of other stuff. Doesn't have clips on the ends like those that came with my Mobo, but really, that shouldn't matter, no lil gremlins should be in your case playing with your cables.
Other Thoughts: It may look like a long twizzler.. but it's not for eating... I promptly stuffed the unused cables into my spare parts box before the dog could decide to give them a taste-test.
More SATA cable madness, on the next page. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16812104150&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&SelectedRating=-1&PurchaseMark=&VideoOnlyMark=False&Page=3)
Pros: It connected my HDD to my motherboard. Red.
Cons: I live in NJ. There is a newegg warehouse in NJ. This cable was shipped from California. How silly.
Other Thoughts: Chuck Norris once shot down a German fighter plane with his finger by yelling "Bang!"

You've clearly never owned a Turbolink PSU. I've seen parts stop working or release some smoke, but never before had I seen actual blue flames come out of a computer. They stopped quickly, fortunately, but it can actually happen. Luckily nothing else in my friend's Northwood box died, but I'm still surprised it didn't just smoke and quit working rather than burst into flames.
Lesson being (as we all should know by now) that you don't skimp on the power supply. I've been getting all my friends to buy Seasonic, Corsair, and Silverstone units rather than the Atrix/etc disasters they were looking into originally.
----------
Edit: This is from a "350W" Apex supply:
Pros: Im surprised what this psu is capable of. been running it for only 3hr but it shows no sign of stress.
Cons: small fan makes it a bit hot, but there are ways to deal with it.
Other Thoughts: spec: ASRock P4i65G mATX, P4 2.66ghz, 1.5gb PC2700 KingstonVR, 7600GS 512mb AGP, 80gb Seagate, Sony dual-layer, fdd and 120 exhaust fan. I had my doubts for this psu if it has enough juice. The object now is to keep the case as cool as possible.
Man this $20 PSU sure is great! I just got this today but I've been testing it for a whole 3 hours with no way to tell if it's performing anywhere near spec. and it gets really hot on my low-end setup and it makes noise and now I have to live in a freezer but I sure am glad I spent nothing on it! 5-star review
----------
From an 8500 Wolfdale review:
Pros: I was wondering if this CPU can be put in to a ASUS P5N-E 650i mobo? N also what's tha best video card to put with this combo?
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Just a dummy...
HEY THIS IS A FORUM RIGHT??? I'M GOING TO RATE THIS 5 STARS JUST TO BE SURE!!! It's called using google dot com.
I've found the processor reviews by morons and fanboiz to be the most amusing, but you eventually hit a wall at the more expensive processors as most of the people who spend more money on these usually do their research and at least have a clue about what they're reviewing.

AMAZINGLY .................... BAD!
Pros: it has enough holes for the motherboard.
Cons: i think it is made of cotton. i got mad because i died in counter-strike so i kicked it. the side panel fell off and it now has a huge dent on the side. my CPU didnt fit in the case. my temperatures are at 100C. under load they go up to 150C. the noise is very loud, but if you wanna wake up you're neighbors its perfect. in order to go to sleep i have to wear headphones.
Other Thoughts: its amazing, but has its flaws.

Yeah. My blood started a-boilin' when I read a review recently that went something like this, only phrased as if he knew what he was talking about: "I didn't buy this product but I have one with a similar model number and even though the one I have is actually quite different, I think this one stinks because my much lower end version does. Don't buy this! My tech level is high!"

Hey that was me!
I usually like to see BS reviews every now and then, especially on a boring and/or depressing day. I do agree on the comments though that are made by people who don't own the product or when somebody makes a review only to say "To the person who said their Q6600 didn't fit on their northbridge slot.......Hope this solves your problem." That annoys me, especially because they're affecting the overall rating of the product by not owning it, yet rating anyway. But I do love it when I see funny reviews, and even stupid reviews are tolerable at times... if they're stupid enough. "I couldn't figure out how to put on the big metal thing so I tried without it and this CPU fried my $6000 motherboard! Intel is trying to make you buy more from them!"
I once mis wired a switch on an old AT power supply from an old Cyrix. Man, that freaked my parents out when I plugged it in. The whole house went dark and the breakers didnt even trip! Anyway got some smoke but no flames. Maybe some day Ill see a nice explosion from the case...

Tech level is of course high. He's right about the ram price, half right about the easiest to install for performance (I've had several IBM laptops where all you had to do was unscrew 4 screws and pop off the keyboard to replace the cpu) but...well, you figure out the rest.
If you're pointing out how Vista 32bit detects 4gigs of RAM on that review as the punch line, actually the person is right. With Vista SP1, 32bit can now fully detect 4gigs of RAM, so as long as the motherboard can support that amount or RAM.

It only reports 4GB of ram. It still falls under the same rule as XP 32bit. 32bit Vista and 32bit XP can only register up to 4GB of RAM, this includes ram for gfx cards and any reserved for the PCI bus. The only thing that I can picture Microsoft doing this for is to stop people from complaining who don't understand how physical memory is addressed. I can only imagine how many people have called Microsoft and complained that Vista didn't "see" all of the ram they had in their system.....thank god I'm not on Microsoft's support team.

Cons: No picture of hot girl on the drive like on some video cards. No free software on it either. Takes forever to format it the first time.
Never thought about hot girl picture on a HD.
Here's a review for the SCEPTRE X24WG-1080P Black 24" (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824112011)
Pros: >dude I got me a 1920x1200 monitor >it doesn't suck >$400 or so >you could sleep two small babies on it >maybe three >5 if they were premature quins >around thirty baby kittens would easily fit if snuggled up tight. >it's awesome. > No dead pixels, no flaws or cracks, no baby kittens.
Cons: Don't have fifty kittens to prove conjecture. (However pictures of such kittens found on internet look just awesome) The stand doesn't swivel or do anything cool at all apart from, well.. stand. Not fallen over yet though, so good job that stand.

I don't know about that. All I know is that before SP1 and SP3(XP), you needed to do a registry tweak/mod to 'extend' the PAE thingymajig.

haha i love these reviews here are some other good ones about cisco products :)
Pros: None really that I can think of.
Cons: Very archaic user interface. Apparently command line is all the rage these days. :( This router is nothing but an overpriced toy for command line fanboys. The VPN setup is a joke, and good luck with the rule sets. Extremely difficult to setup more than a basic gateway. Not to mention the probs I have had with the wireless. Tossed into the cable bin after a month of mucking around with it.
Other Thoughts: For those of you with the time and money, go ahead and spend both learning how to set this thing up. Me, I got better things to do with both.
shocker! or even better
Pros: Makes a nice paper weight
Cons: Expensive, worthless, limited capabilities/support without spending hundreds
Other Thoughts: Buy A linux router for 200 less and Use third party firmware

This is the funniest thread I have ever come across here on OCF :)
I actually was laughing out loud hysterically at work and people were looking at me funny hehehe.
I think this is obviously the only purpose for Newegg reviews.....to provide humor to people who actually do have a higher than average tech level.....because.....obviously these and MOST of the newegg reviews should be taken with a grain of salt regarding legitimate or useful information.
GREAT THREAD! Subbed and I hope I see alot more.
Im going to start scanning reviews to see if I come across any funny ones.
Im not sure if the funniest ones are the obvious gag ones (overclocked my sata cable/etc...) or the legitimately ignorant people who post their tech level as high with 15+ years of computer building experience and then post some REALLY way off base info.
Either way I love it :D
Thanks for the laughs!!!!

BossBorot posted probably the funniest review ever, I truly 'lol'd' fof a few minutes. But here's some more Powmax goodness:
DOA
Pros: Very good price for the wattage.
Cons: I noticed something rattling inside the PSU when I first took it out of the box and upon turning it on it's side a piece of what looked like a small capacitor fell out and when I installed it in my computer it made a loud pop with a bright flash out of the back of the thing immediately upon pushing the power button. Needless to say the computer never turned on and I took the PSU right out and put it back in it's packaging for RMA.
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for.
The guy installed it after a capacitor fell out?? someone needs a new hobby...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817163075
Pros: It works.
Cons: A few issues. The outer casing is very nice looking but when you slap a huge unattractive ""features"" sticker on the side that is visible through the case side panel it somewhat defeats the purpose of having a gold power supply. And it is VERY gold. I ended up taking the PSU apart and flipping the sticker side to the non-visible end of my case. Also while having it apart there was some floating plastic pieces inside. Last but not least the gold paint job is deceiving in the newegg pictures, it is much more gold than it looks, which isn't a bad thing but it is VERY easy to notice imperfections in the paint job. A small scratch will be the first thing your eyes gravitate to when viewing the unit.
It's certainly a Pro when you BUY SOMETHING AND IT WORKS amirite?!? I guess that is a Pro with Powmax though! More floating pieces, and wow, does he ever go on about the gold paintjob..

Note to self, unplug computer
Pros: Amazing, I was able to run 2 EIDE HDDs a SATA HDD, two CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, and my mobo. Promised to be very long lasting.
Cons: It ran fine, perfectly fine, until I forgot the power button has to be held for 7 seconds until the computer powers off! I blew it up. (It seems all of the cons for my posts are my fault) otherwise, none with the actual product
Other Thoughts: Why is it always my fault that these things don't last long
Poor little guy thought it was his fault :( but nope! it's a Powmax!

This has nothing to do with Newegg, but rather than making a new thread, Id like to share these with you guys:
Ebay Feedbacks:
POSITIVE: The way you wrote my zip-code makes me weak in the knees. Such smooth strokes. A+!
POSITIVE: Item shipped quickly, have been having erotic dreams about seller. Thanks!
NEGATIVE: Though you did nothing wrong, I am giving you this negative feedback to teach you that the universe is arbitrary and unfair.
These two were my favs:
NEUTRAL: Excellent communication, but should’ve poked holes in box before shipping the kitten. Refunded.
POSITIVE: A+++++. Items are exactly as described. Best case of kalashnikovs I’ve ever bought. Allah Akbar!
Pros: I bought this card to download the entire internet. I was told this was impossible, but have proven you all wrong. I have downloaded the entire internet.
Cons: Now you're gonna pay.
Other Thoughts: Now that I have the internet on my hard drive, I will be hosting it hostage. If you want your internet back safe, I demand to be sent $5,500, one penny more then I originally paid for the card itself. I think this profit justifies my actions and I hope to see some interest in the safety of your internet.

Pros: It's Halo. The Mongoose is somewhat fun to drive.
Cons: Halo 3: the most overhyped game of 2007. What can I say, but that it didn't even get CLOSE to living up to it's hype. The Campaign was utterly boring, easy, and short(Beaten in 6 hours on legendary, First-time playthrough), Multiplayer is HORRIBLE!(melee physics, to be specific. If one 1-ton fighting machine melees another 1-ton fighting machine, that second 1-ton fighting machine should at LEAST be able to fight back a little before dying! And when they do die, a 1-ton metal brick of a soldier should HIT THE DIRT right then and there! NOT Fly off 100 feet before doing so.) Another thing about multiplayer is all the 12-and-unders who have hence been dubbed ""Squeakers"". Parents, There is an ESRB Rating on games for a reason! You are making your children MORE defiant and mouthy, and MORE annoying!
Other Thoughts: Well, this has more to do with parent's poor decisions, but I saw something the other day that disgusted me. It was a picture. ""Happy 4th Birthday, <some kid's name>"" IT WAS A GTA: SAN ANDREAS BIRTHDAY CAKE. FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD. Is that wrong, or is that wrong?

Tech Level: high
Pros: It's quiet
Cons: Their cables can be confused with other brand's cables. If they're going to use modular cables, they should use a proprietary connector so you don't use the wrong cable.
Other Thoughts: BEWARE!!!!! I swapped this in to replace a Thermaltake PSU that seemed to be failing. My HUGE mistake was using the modular cables from the Thermaltake, which have identical connectors at the PSU end. turns out the wiring isn't the same, so I smoked a bunch of stuff and am spending $20K on data recovery for failed HDs.
Manufacturer Response:We are very sorry you had the issue with the Thermaltake PSU cables. Our cables are in fact labeled as HX-1000 only and unfortunately, we have no control over the lack of labeling for the other brand.

I say they just invent some type of transfer protocol that allows you to smack some sense into someone over the internet, so you could use it to deal with trolls and clueless fanboys also.
I had it happen on my ex fiancees Gateway that she bought new. By the time I made it across the room, unplugged it and then made it back with a fire extinguisher, it had visible flames coming out of the PSU.

Pros: Small motherboard with pretty good onboard video. Allows for a fairly powerful computer and still some room for possible upgrading in the future.
Cons: Layout of the board is a little tight and some of the connectors are placed in weird spots. This is my first microATX MB, so it could be fairly common with microATX and I just don't have the experience to know. Just look at the board carefully as you install and plan which devices you plug in in what order, this will resolve most of the problem.
Also, Biostar has a Bios manual on their website you can download. They should have made it a part of their normal manual, but its not hard to go download it.
Other Thoughts: After I got my computer running I had mysteriously lost a quarter gig of RAM. It took me a bit to figure out what was happening. Apparently if you use the onboard video, it needs RAM (duh) but the bios will actually reserve it out of the RAM and only list what is left (256 MB for the onboard RAM just happens to be the amount I saw missing). When I dropped the reserved amount to only 64 MB my RAM went back up to 2 gig minus 64. I'm sure that other boards I've had do essentially the same thing, but they list your full RAM and you have to assume the onboard is using part of it. I actually like this because it helps me to know exactly how much ram I have to deal with in active applications, but it would have been nice for Biostar to let me know ahead of time so I wouldn't have to have worried that my MB or RAM were faulty.
So this guy needs Biostar to tell him that onboard video uses RAM? Tool.....

Pros: Athlon 64 single core 3700 @ 2.6ghz from 2.2ghz CPU cool, OC'ed to the RAM's limit but the CPU could go way farther with this water cooling system and still be under 45c at full load. If I had some DDR 500 this thing could do 3ghz I suspect.

Cons: Green tubing and green coolent. Should be clear tubing and optional colors on coolent. They are really shooting themselves in the foot on sales due to this kits base color being set in stone. If I want to change color I have to get new tubing, which I am going to do too continue the systems blue theme.

Tool.....

Pros: Seductive looks, and Asus brand.
Cons: This board is a nightmare. would not even pass windows xp or vista installation in AHCI mode. it shows a blue screen error and then reboots but its fine in IDE mode but IDE is much slower than AHCI. you dont get all performance in IDE mode and since I bought a hard drive with 32mb cache I want everything to perform at its best. Also by default, it detects my 1066 ram at 800 and when I contacted ASUS they said do a BIOS update and then set your ram timing manually! but I don't want to do it manually. if it actually supported 1066 it would detect it automatically. setting ram timings manually will cause system instability. I have done with my other boards and I know.
Other Thoughts: getting a new product should not cause so much headache. although I have always been buying ASUS boards and recommending them to others, this time I am very disappointed. NO MORE ASUS FOR ME.
Really i never new setting ram timings manually caused system crashes, btw this guy rated himself at a high tech level. Man people are so stupid.

Pros: Only $40, not $70.
Cons: Okay, where do I begin. In order to fit this cooler into my case I broke off the top fin and sawed off the tops of the heat pipes. What I saw inside shocked me. Instead of full copper heatpipes, they were hollow on the inside with a thin layer of copper. I loaded up my system;
Stock Heatsink Idle: around 35 degrees c idle, load 85.
New (better) heatsink: reaches 70 degrees c idle, reached 110 degrees c before I pressed the button to turn it off.

Pros: Passive cooling design, no power required. Comes with a motherboard mounting plate (one reason for purchase).
Cons: Does not work. Purchased this for an Athlon64 3800+ CPU. Installed using Artic Silver thermal compound like I always do on my coolers. Watched the CPU temperature climb steadily in the BIOS monitor over a few minutes until the MB almost went into thermal shutdown.
Other Thoughts: A total waste of money and now have a heavy copper paper weight. I ended up going to Circuit City (out of business sale) and picked up an Antec cooler with fan and it works fine.
I do not blame NewEgg. In the past 8-9yrs of business dealings this is the only product that I have been unhappy with. We sometimes only have the reviews to go by and I did not find enough there before purchase. A leap of faith that landed me a lemon......
then....
Pros: I don't actually own one of these.
Cons: None since I've never used it.
Other Thoughts: It's unbelievable that someone would list as a CON the fact that the temperature rose WITH NO FAN ATTACHED TO IT!!! Of COURSE the temp went up! That's whhy heatsinks always have a fan attached to them! I find it hard to believe that you people are so "smart" that you can disassemble key components of a computer, but NOT smart enough to UNDERSTAND them. A heatsink draws heat away from the CPU, and the fan draws heat away from the HEATSINK!

One time I was at a LAN party and totally owning fools playing CSS. I got a rad headshot and this PSU started smoking and i was like this is satans power supply! at that point i knew i was in love with it. Oh yeah and at least once a day this thing will make rad noise like an electric guitar wailing. If your hardcore, this PSU is for you.

I guess a company like AMD has to make a triple core chip when they cannot get a grasp on true QUAD core technology...
Hey, do a little research before insulting a company. Intel's Quads are actually two dual core processors placed next to each other on the chip, That's how they put them into production so fast. AMD actually redesigned the chip for four cores. As to the reason for tri-core? It's a quad with one core failing after stamping, they just locked that core out. This was done to 'reuse' chips that would otherwise be trashed. Pressing four cores at once is more likely to have a failure than only pressing two, thus they had a lot of bad chips and decided to sell them as tri-cores instead of trashing them. IMO a great marketing decision.

Cons: iStarUSA implements "How to Break your RAID with one finger" technology.
HD Lights are also power buttons to each disk. Have any kids/teens in your home that like to press flashy buttons to see what they do?! Well this is the RAID enclosure for you then. I work for a large ISP and am surrounded by hundreds of raid enclosures. This is the first time I have EVER seen a company put an ON/OFF button per disk.
Also the fan is noisy.
Other Thoughts: In a data center where your the only one who will touch this thing the unit scores a 4, minus 1 for the power buttons. Add a noisy fan to the mix and this array scores a 3 in my book. You may not like my review but when a disk is accidentally turned off and you loose data you'll remember this review and say "He was right"....

I read this one and saw right through it. It's on an Intel SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167014
Pros: I purchased this SSD with the intentions of useing it as a secondary drive to put certian applications and games on it. After seeing some of the reviews and some people useing it as the boot drive I decided to give it a try. I am not sure if I installed it corectly or not but I don't see any noticeable difference in the boot time. However when windows is up and running and I go to play a game the game loads instantly and it almost jumps onto the screen. From the time I click on the shortcut I am ready to play in about 3 seconds , never seen anything load that fast ever. Maps in the game load so fast I am always the first one in. Any app I load loads instantly , IE jumps onto screen in 1 sec. Love it!!
Cons: not a con just wish I knew what was holding up the boot time on windows (XP PRO 32 BIT). Maybe I will call Intel tech support and see if they have any suggestions. ACHI is enabled in the bios.
Would be nice if price came down a bit might get another.

Cons: not a con just wish I knew what was holding up the boot time on windows (XP PRO 32 BIT). Maybe I will call Intel tech support and see if they have any suggestions. ACHI is enabled in the bios.
Would be nice if price came down a bit might get another.
Other Thoughts: Computer specs. overclocked to 4023mhz

The fact that he has 6gigs of ram on a 32bit OS that doesn't support more than 3.5ish makes me think he says he has the system of his dreams, and really doesn't. Seriously you're looking at what, about $4k if bought today and not when it was newer. +1 for bogus.

I would agree x2.
If someone builds a system like this, I can almost guarantee that they would use a 64-bit OS.

Pros: only good thing is that it works.
Cons: get to hot i took the plastic off thinkning it might help keep it cool. it did a little.
Other Thoughts: not worth the money.
I would say thats the main good thing any of us really want isn't it?

It's not uncommon on the internet for people to lie more than usual.
Edit: Oh, just looked up that "VGA PSU" and it's supposedly just to run the video cards. But then again if he already has a 1200W he shouldn't need it for 3 high end GPU's. That, along with the other things wrong with his setup = he's really clueless and a terrible liar.

Pros: This is a great replacement for the stupid ease of installation concept intel came up with for the LGA775 socket.. It makes for a solid contact between your cpu heatsink and the cpu keeing the most important CPU at its coolest.. I used this kit along with a Sythe Ninja Mini heat sync (1000)..
Cons: the kit was a little difficult to install with only one set of hands to get everything to line up.. but with a little patience and surgical handling it was done..
The only thing I was disappointed with was the kit was missing 1 plastic spacer.. I had to run out to Home Depot to pick up a replacement for the missing spacer.. I found a 4 pack of Neoprene Rubber (5/32") Flat Washers that fit perfectly.. I would have given 5 eggs despite this minor inconvenience
Other Thoughts: Sythe Ninja Mini is not mini by any means! lol
but it is a good cooling unit if you want a quite solution to your stock cpu fan.. I also replaced the fan that came with the heatsink with a ENERMAX UC-8EB 80mm Case Fan bought here from NewEgg.. the fan is super quiet considering it uses magnets to spin the fan blade rather then your typical ball bearings that cause friction and noise!
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185084
Uhh all fans used magnets idiot
another one
Pros: works great instalation was not bad. You have to take the motherboard out but that is no big deal. Dropped my P4 3ghz do 22c it was running at 35c. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about one of those push pins coming loose and overheating my system.
Cons: I did not have any stimilus money to buy it with because I did not get any cause I am not AIG
Other Thoughts: It works best if you push the screws on the of the motherboard through the back plate first before you seat the processor this makes it easier to align the screws
Wow it is a heatsink and a motherboard backplate. and all of this time I thought we had to put a backplate AND a heatsink. Well did he proved me wrong.

Best. Thread. Ever.
Dark Knight Xigmatek review, this caught my eye before i bought it :)
Pros: Only $40, not $70.
Cons: Okay, where do I begin. In order to fit this cooler into my case I broke off the top fin and sawed off the tops of the heat pipes. What I saw inside shocked me. Instead of full copper heatpipes, they were hollow on the inside with a thin layer of copper. I loaded up my system;
Stock Heatsink Idle: around 35 degrees c idle, load 85.
New (better) heatsink: reaches 70 degrees c idle, reached 110 degrees c before I pressed the button to turn it off.
Other Thoughts: This is a piece of cheap hardware and I don't know why it did not work as splendidly as everybody elses did. I hope that, if you're are still buying this, that it works better for you. The worse part is I don't know if the manufacturer will honor the warranty due to the modifications I made.

Pros: Very easy to set up wireless.
Does a great job of printing.
No fax, no card slots, no scanner, no other junk to break. Just print, print, print.
Reasonable footprint.
Cons: Noisy. Scares cat, at first.

Newegg should make the reviews more interactive, like a forum. SO that I can simply tell people like that person who literally broke his heatsink and voided his warranty that they are an idiot. Well in a kind manner.

I say they just invent some type of transfer protocol that allows you to smack some sense into someone over the internet, so you could use it to deal with trolls and clueless fanboys also.
I found out about http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=2314 while working cust care for at&t wireless. I and all my coworkers agreed this should become mandatory for all cell phones. Cust care would be able to activate it as needed for customers in need of a Clue Bat.

Yeah he's messing around... since it's the best, most expensive CPU available on the website.
There are others saying that they sold their car to get one, moved back in with their parents...
Recently upgraded from an Intel Core i7 965 which was giving me some serious lag in supreme commander when there was multiple units on the screen
This is the best processor i ever used. Sold my house to buy this baby. it is the nutz!!!! moved back in with my parents but it was worth it.
I bought this and I have to say, it makes all the difference. I used it along with my ATI Rage II and it made Doom 1 perform much more smoothly. I know people say that Doom 2 and 3 are much better, but I don't want to have to shell out hundreds of pounds for a good graphics card to play them.
the 975 cost £770... when he could get a 920 + 5870 for £520

Ok, I had to add one here. Those who know OCZ's hierarchy of drives will get a kick out of this one! He had a Summit, FYI.
Cons: 1 of 2 died about a week after having it. Kept losing volume information, had to do an RMA, spent 50 bucks sending it to OCZ to get a replacement, then had to wait over a month to get a replacement. And when the replacement arrived...it was the wrong one! They sent me a Vertex as a replacement which isn't bad, but still half the cache!
Frikkin guy gets shipped a much better drive and this is what he posts? Yikes.

Here is one for my Motherboard...
Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Rating: 1 Star
"Catastrophe
Pros: The cmos reset button is very handy. I should know, I had to use it multiple times.
Cons: I was building a new rig using a Zalman 1000 watt PSU, 4GB of Corsair dominator RAM, an AMD Phenom II X4, and a BFG 9800 GX2 GPU. My first problem was that the board powered on, but wouldn't post. After a few hours of research, I deduced that the problem was that the BIOS didn't recognize the Phenom, so I spent some extra scratch buying a low end AMD CPU that would allow the board to post so that I could flash the BIOS. After updating the BIOS, voila, the board posted, and I was able to install the operating system. But that wasn't the end of my problems. When I installed the GX2, there was no video output. I checked and double-checked the BIOS settings, to no avail. The system posted, Windows loaded, (I could hear but not see it), but no video output. After changing the BIOS settings to onboard GPU always on so that I could see if the system was detecting the card (any time I exited the BIOS it caused a hang on restart by the way), it died. It won't even power on. I'm beyond disgusted
Other Thoughts: This board is overpriced to begin with, and the fact that I had to spend extra cash just to get it to post and it died shortly thereafter only adds insult to injury. My advice: steer well clear."
What a tool. Mine is running perfectly fine.

Saw this for a 4gb Kinsgston SDHC card -
Pros: -Works in my Canon SD850-IS
-Does what it's supposed to.
-Smells like good handsoap.
Cons: -It will not sing me to sleep. The fact that it smells like soap is slightly worrying.
Update - Since I'm last in the thread I'll just add these here. Looks like SSS has secretly been training his thermal paste tasting army. Was looking at the 3.5g tubes of AS5
Pros: AC5 is by far and above the best thermal compound I've ever used.
Pros: Premium Formula. Highest Thermal Conductivity around. Better than OEM paste (as it actually contains silver).
Cons: Doesnt work well with my air conditioner, nor as a salad dressing.

OEM i7 960
Pros: I am sure its fast if it survives shipping
Cons: $600.00 CPU that is not even packaged as well as a stick of 2c gum would be. It was just sitting in a small plastic wrapper without even a cover over the CPU pins and tossed into the box with the rest of my items with nothing to keep the heavier stuff from beating up the CPU in shipping but some foam peanuts.
This without question is the worst packaged item of this price i have ever seen in my life. With the super short return time on i now i have to race to get my computer built just to make sure this CPU is not dead from shipping damage.
I am really upset with you guys.
Other Thoughts: I have done all my computer business with you for ten years now but if you ever send me another item that costs this much and is packaged this poorly i am going to take my business else where.

i5 750 CPU review:
Pros: At 4GHz, this CPU can cook eggs and bacons for you! At 4.5GHz, you can even do frozen turkey as well!
Cons: No pretty girl to go with the CPU box like those on mobo and video card boxes. Search online for pretty girl, print it out, glue em to your box, problem solved!
If the CPU is hot enough to cook eggs, I'd replace those coolers. I'm at 3.9GHz and not over 55C yet. And honestly who buys part for the pretty girls??

Cons: we got this more for its pleasuring features than its massaging features. Even with a dimmer connected to it, it vibes too hard and numbs the selected area. I think it was the part where I wrote;
"These things are strong enough hold up David Carridine until the police arrive! Not judging, but if you're gonna roll that way use a spotter."

No wonder it died! It seems to been used as a beer holder.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128372Pros: looks nice started out fine,
Cons: Died after a year , hard to set my beer on with all the useless stuff on top, went into the same power loop s others have said
Other Thoughts: This P45 chip set seems to have a problem, one egg for lasting one year

As soon as I'd finished my build and installed the OS, I booted up calc and entered 98 x 44. It answered with 4312, just like that! No lag or wait whatsoever!
This simply is a must for all overweight, spotty virgins who still live with their parents. You won't be disappointed!"

I am a graphic designer so need my programs (Paint, Clipart) to work smoothly. also I create lots of word Documents and the speed this will load them is just amazing, took me a mere 1 second to load 23,044 words!!
as far as multitasking goes, there is no competition, I have had both Paint and Word open at the same time now for over 12 minutes and have seend almost no lag!
Buy this chip, and your life will become so much better."

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: works good
good on muscles
new egg rocks
Cons: we got this more for its pleasuring features than its massaging features. Even with a dimmer connected to it, it vibes too hard and numbs the selected area. My wife didn't like it at all- it just made her numb. We even bought some attachments and found the same thing we happening. She doesn't ever have a hard time finding satisfaction, so maybe this thing is better for those that are less sensitive than her.
Other Thoughts: We'll still keep it around for back and shoulders.
there are many more sexual referenced reviews :)

Edit: its been posted, but twice is ok cause its just great!
That's because I've seen tons of those in certain videos, that's basically what they are.
I wanna pick one up one of these days.

Rating + 5 Best grills in the world and you can over clock them!
Pros: Wow these grills are amazing. I overclocked them and got tripple the performance. I also grill steaks and fish on them. They trippled the performance out of my MOBO, Video card, RAM and CPU. I am also able to freese meat inside my case.
Cons: It grows money on trees. Everytime I wake up there are 500 dollar bills on trees outside my house because of this thing.
Other Thoughts: This has allowed me to play the piano and pro football in which I could not before. I was paralized but since purchasing this grill I can walk agaon!

Thought I'd revive this old thread. Just looked at the review page for the Sempron 140. For those that don't know, this is a 2.7ghz single core and as of about 2 weeks ago was the cheapest cpu on newegg.
Pros: For what you pay, this little cpu will do all you need. For a school, home computer- online, photos, itunes, office.
Paid $60 for this cpu and a biostar motherboard combo.
Cons: Won't cut it for games?
Other Thoughts: Replaced a intel 3.0 qaud core that was from 05. I like the AMD much better.
How hard do you have to hit your head in order to replace a 3.0ghz quad core, guessing q9650, with a 2.7ghz single core Sempron and get "better"?
One reviewer also gave it only 2 eggs since he wasn't unable to unlock the second core.

Not to mention that the first Core2 Quad was released in January, 2007 (http://www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/quickrefyr.htm#2007)

Yeah thought that seemed a bit early, since I thought '05 was around the time they just started coming out with dual cores.

Man, wish i could find it again...spend the last 2 hours scrolling threw corsair psu reviews looking for it but cant find it. Just remember seeing it back in march when i was building my rig. They guys review just went on and on about the "velvet bag" that the cables came in. Like the entire review...then as a note on the bottom in the other thoughts section it mearly said "oh and the free silver rated psu that came in the bag is awesome too", i almost died reading it.

I think that was a joke review. He's actually slamming AMD, because intel chips dated 05 on them are still great chips. Maybe I'm wrong...

Customer Reviews of the ECS (EliteGroup) FLYER INSERT
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/931/ecs.png
Pros: Where do I start? First off, this thing is light as a feather! Anyone can carry hundreds of these without straining a single muscle. It's paper thin, so it is very cost effective to just throw one in a box with an order and you don't have to pay extra shipping! I'm sure at least 3 trees were destroyed to make the one I got, so that's a plus if you're into deforestation or if you work for a logging company. Also, if you profit from global warming, you'll be happy to know that a large amount of chemicals were used to make the ink that went on this thing. Everyone wins! I just wish I could afford to buy more. Oh, wait... I CAN BECAUSE THEY'RE ONLY ONE CENT!!! ZOMG!
Cons: 5.99 SHIPPING?! whiskey-tango-foxtrot?
Other Thoughts: Seriously?
Pros: It shipped quick, and looked good on paper... (pun?) but looks can be deceiving.
Like others said, def was shiny. It is in fact paper, but seemed like poor quality. (see below).
Cons: DOA. When I tried to install it, it gave me some EX-00238 error. It appeared that every color that was supposed to be red, was blue. Also, while I was reading it, it started to go upside down. I called tech support and they couldn't help me. They suggested RMA'ing for a new one. I know so much about stuff like this, and I couldn't get it to work.
Other Thoughts: This was my first attempt at it, but how hard can it be? One time I changed the batteries on my friend's DS, and that worked fine. I think I know what I'm doing. Now I have to wait another couple weeks before I can try again, but I have low hopes.
Pros: Just as advertised, it is a piece of paper!
Cons: My wife has a Mac, and says she can't get it to work. Lame instructions, and not compatible with a Mac.
