Well this problem is kind of complicated so please bear with me. A few days ago I was toying with settings and for whatever reason decided to try turning off DMA on my harddrive to see what the speeds would be like. I rebooted and upon getting into windows, my computer seemed to hate it so I reverted back right away (comp was freezing). So I went to play half-life (day of defeat mod to be more exact) and it and every other mod refused to run... So I rebooted... didnt work... rebooted again... nothing... rebooted again and it worked. Now every time I change any settings in windows be it resolution or updating drivers half-life stops working unless I reboot aprox 15 times (no exageration)... My computer occasionly gives me error messages regarding the kernal and rundle32.dll...Im at a complete loss as to why this happens... I just got a new video card (GeForce2 GTS pro) to replace my old card and Im still getting the exact same problem... Any help would be greatly apreciated I dont really wanna format but I have a feeling its going to be the only option.

When you turned of DMA you probably did this for the Hard Drive as well. You are probably getting really bad speeds, so Half Life will not work. Check and make sure that you have it enabled.

I would clear the BIOS. On Abit board this is usually a jumper near the battery. Check your manual.
