was told this is the place to ask this so hear it goes.

Ok so i just built a new Rig and everything went fine except im getting a low volt error on PC Alarm.

My rig consist of

700W power supply XVS
8800 GTS
1 sata hard drive
5400 AMD2

my motherboard is a MSI and has some cool and quite program that says my volatages are all fine. If i start up PC Alert however i get a alarm saying my 12V input is only recieving 5V and continued usage can damage my chip. I'm assuming its refering to the 4pin power plug for the CPU. It is not really that clear on pc alarm what its refering to.

So i guess my question is why would 2 diffrent monitoring software read diffrently and how do i know which one is right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use a multimeter in one of your 4 pin molex plugs, yellow is 12v and red is 5v. That should tell you for sure. If they read what they should, turn off your PC Alert. What is "XVS" power supply?
