hi all i am having some troubles networking my XP Pro boxes together, i create new users under computer managements and then add them to the permissions list, but when i try to connect to this computer from all the others it just says that they do not have the rights to access that computer, but it gives me no prompt to put in a username and password!, when i set it to everyone it all works fine, but still doesn’t give me a box for username/password, i also disabled "idiot networking" can someone please help me? this used to work flawlessly on 2k..thanks in advance!

Make sure all computers have the same protocols on them. My winxp network at home was working fine till one of my roommates needed to add a protocol to play a game on line and then the network stoped working. I could get on the net but couldn't even search for the other computers. I added the protocol to all the other computers and bang they all became visable. Other things that can get in the way the connection firewall. If you haven't done it enable the netbios over tcp/ip might help.
