I have a friend on the phone, how do you get into the bios on a Compaq laptop?

He can't find it.

on most pre built systems isn't there an option like F2 or F8 to get into bios or startup options? it was like that on my friend's HP, but you had to be quick to get it or it would dissapear. once i had to restart 3 times to read which each F key did before i could tell which one got me into the bios :D

I am a little late, but it is F10 on most of the Compaqs. I think, I work on Dells.
