Hey guys, I have a Lian-Li V1200 Plus II case and am trying to decide on what's the best setup for a water cooled solution. I am just cooling the CPU ATM and prob wont ever do the video card. My CPU is a Q6600 that likes to run real hot even at stock speeds. I want to OC it to 3.4-3.6 and only hit about 50c at full load. Here is a pic of the case:

Now the idea I have is a radiator mounted on the intake on the bottom, w/ a 120mm fan behind it that goes directly into the pump that will sit right behind the fan. I will of course have to take out the first HDD rack, that's not an issue at all. From the pump I'll take the line straight up and out of the angeled piece of sheet metal and to the CPU, then to a resevoir mounted on the side of the optical drive bays, just slightly higher then the CPU, from there back through the angeled piece of sheet metal and to the radiator.
This a good setup? Or should I put another radiator on the back as well? Any suggestions are welcome, this is my first setup so feel free to bash down my ideas :-p.

I did the same thing some time ago.
These are old shots but the idea is the same.

Awesome, what kind of temps are you getting ddawson? My loop (future) is very similar to that, minus the pump will sit behind the radiator on the bottom, and the reservoir will be mounted in a non-drive bay but in the general area.

Also, how loud is your pump ddawson?
It will be difficult to keep that processor at 50*C load while running 3.6GHz. I have one at 3.2 on a 3x120 radiator, mcp655, and custom WB, and the thing is equivalent to a nice little space heater.

Have any temp numbers? Pics of your setup?
Also I am ONLY cooling the CPU, not the video card or ram or anything.

I'm finding the 2 8800's I have are heating the box up too much.
I'm running 1.4V and load temps are about 45C. Idle is about 32C
On my other computer which uses the same parts but a 6600 and 2 7900GTX's the load temps are 38C. It uses a larger Silverstone case.
I can’t hear the pump over the 8800 fans.

This is my Lian Li V1100 installation which works well for me.

Very cool setups and info :). Ddawson, again I have a question for you, haha.
What is your loop setup? and what radiator(s)/fan(s) you using?

Here is a pic of another setup I am thinking. 2x120mm overkill for a quad core?
Also, my tubes wont be EXACTLY where I show them, but pretty close, I'll just take them through the holes. How do you think this setup would fare?

To add, the cases depth is 625mm. The 2x1200mm radiator (swiftech) is 285mm. By the looks of things (don't have exact measurements of PSU bay or anything) it should all fit. Anyone have any reason why it wouldn't?

No one has any suggestions for my proposed loop? I'd love to hear what people think (the good, bad, whatever) so I can get the best setup I can.

This is my setup from a couple of years ago on the v1000 with a Dtek heater core.

Then this is after my upgrade.

I still need to take some pics of my current setup, its similar to the last pic except all of my hardware is different.

Very nice, how does that perform?

pearl click on my main rig (RIG 1) in my sig and it will take you to a thread where I have picks of 2 or 3 diff. setups with my 1000v hope they help

The first pic with the heatercore did alright. The 2nd pic with the dual rad and modded ddc is great. I have the setup in my sig and it runs relatively cool. The 2nd setup is never maxed out as far as cooling. You have a bit more room down there than I do, so it should be easier to work with.

You might want to add a tline/reservoir

Ya, I was half asleep when I did it. I'll be gettin one of those micro-res's from swiftech. I'll have it sit on the side of the optical drive bays a lil above the CPU so it'll be the highest point in the line.
That's the part I am 99% sure of so I was too lazy to redo my fancy mspaint job when I noticed I forgot it.
I like those builds JustChill, specially the HTPC! What kind of temps do you get in that V1000 build, the first one in the rig1 post? I have debated a top mount but not sure it'd do THAT well with my 8800GTX right there
