So Friday I am getting something to replace my 700W Zippy PSU for the rig in my sig. I was dead set on a 1kw model but seeing how that is a little overkill and im not sure 350+ on a psu will be a smart move ive looked at other options. Looking for the 750-850W range and have been looking at the PP&C750W with the single rail. My only concern is that it looks as if the 8-pin PCI-Express plugs are just 6-pin with a ground wire added, not a true 8-pin, can anyone confirm this? Anything else i might look at in the 750-850W range? Id keep the zippy but its ugly, and i have so many y-splitters powering harddrives and cdroms because its very limited with molex connectors.

You can find the Ultra V3 1kw for around $250~$280.

You can try the Corsair 620HX, 620 watts sounds good enough. It has modular cables, stable 12V rails..and a price you cant beat. :D
