I'm wondering what I can expect to get outta my cel 400, water cooled. It's not water cooled yet, still piecing together the parts. May be a week more, but I still haven't found a pump yet. Anyways, I was wondering how much I can expect to pull outt of the thing before it goes to s**t. i've checked the DB, but I always take the reported speeds in there with a grain of salt.

I'd say 550 or so, maybe 600 if your system is really great and has a pelt and stuff. I was only able to get mine to 550 with regular water cooling.

you may be able to bump it up even higher now by increasing the vcore to 2.3 or 2.4v

I assume your shooting for 100 FSB...that should be about 600Mhz i think...you can probably do it

But I add with the price of water cooling you can get a new chip can't you :)

600MHz tops I would say. Maybe a little more, but that is pushing it. That core pretty much tops out there. I have seen reports up to 800MHz but frankly I don't believe it.

Highest post I've even seen for those cores was 750mhz with supercooling.

600 is tops with a quality hsf and 2.3V

The highest I ever saw was 840MHz if I can remember right, and they claimed to use liquid Nitrogen, so the chip probably didn't last that long.

Naw, you just build another system. I got a bunch of spare parts kicking around, so I'm working on the third system. It'll probably have to wait till after christmas though. Been planning on thowwing a dual setup together for about a year now, I really should be collecting parts for that system, but for a measely $120 I can have the third rig up and running, then concentrate my efforts on the dual rig. What to do...
...water cooled is going through no matter what. Looking at pumps now.
