speedfan should work fine i used it in xp x64 and in vista x64. did you get the latest version 4.32 i believe it is.
Coretemp here. I use version .94. Some rigs seem to crash with the new version .95. The rumor is that the crashing problem has been fixed on.95, but I have not tried it.

Coretemp is working gives me kind of a warm reading is it usually pretty acurate?
Says I am running 42c on both cores with a 3.075 ghz oc. Seems a bit warm speed fan used to read about 10c lower then that.

Luta there's a thread somewhere on here where the coolist is wanting feedback on the fix.
I think I will download and try it.
Core Temp crashes the rig in my sig. (XP 32-bit) Then whenever I try to run it on Vista 64-bit a bunch of windows just start popping up with some error.

Yeah I know I checked your profile.;)
Well I installed .95 and at the moment it is working just fine.
I guess time will tell, I wish he would fix the cpu reporting thing. Mine shows up as a 6500, same thing on .94.:-/
Anyone else getting the stupid errors like me in Vista? My dad is beggin' me for a temp monitor program. lol

I like .94 better only because I can't access the tray font settings to change the color for better visibility in .95
They both are equally accurate for my Commando/E6600 rig.

I d/l both versions... 94 gives me an error : The driver has failed to load - some information will not be available... I okay that and then it gives me a all temps at 100 degrees C, and a questionmark after the core temps (each 100 deg C)
Version 95 loads the error over and over and over and over again... like just keeps loading the error screen about every 3 seconds or so, so I have no choice but to restart to get rid of it.
Must be something simple = help (please)

Nobody reads before downloading?...there is nothing whatever stating that this is supported on Vista............
Core Temp works on Windows 2000, XP and 2003 (both 32bit and 64bit versions).

Sorry Luta... my bad
Thought I saw as I skimmed down this thread that it was being used for Vista also, so no... didn't read the d/l page... lesson learnt.

.95 reports my fsb correctly but like .94 it thinks that I have a 6500 instead of a 6420.
I reminded the coolist of that yesterday and he said he was working on it.;)

im going to say Coretemp is correct, because i highly doubt your cooler can keep that cpu at that overclock at that low of a temperature.
but don't forget, Speed fan is getting its info from a diffrent thermometer.

Thanks Luta... version 95 works like a charm done that way. Bit of a pain having to use f8 every time I boot, so I guess I'll contunue with AsusProbe for general stuff, and Coretemp for my testing/benching stuff.

I thought Niksub1 found a way to shut it off for good.

Thanks... I'm aware of the vlite pruning process, but am unaware of any other method. Will do a search later when I have time and (if someone hasn't already beaten me to it... ) will post a link.
I've tried all the versions but none of them worked. I know it doesn't really say supported in Vista but I thought maybe since it worked for the other 64-bit Windows there was a chance Vista would work to. Found out it doesn't pretty quick. I'll have to try out turning off that thing before boot and switching up those settings. Hopefully that will get it working. However, that will have to wait till next week as I'm going on vacation and my dad doesn't want to change anything for chance something could go wrong while I'm gone. Thanks for the heads up, though. :)

It works fine if you do the f8 thing, but you have to do it every time you boot the PC.
I have just sent a PM to Niksub1 to see if I can track down what the workaround is, as my search didn't locate it. "I'll be back!"

Here is Nikhsub1's workaround... be warned... it is permanent... check out his original post before you do this...
http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=501892
Start > Run > Type 'CMD'
Type the below (or copy/paste) in the dos prompt. Reboot. Done.
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

This worked like a charm for Core Temp and perhaps RMclock as well (Vista 64-bit OEM)
I also disabled that UAC crap as well - no longer need for run as admin.
