I've been around the block, a few times.
I'm a big AMD fan and i know the little +'s you get from owning one.. but i've been out of the loop :(

What are some of the best CPU's for overclocking.. any preferences...
I've seen XP mentioned quite a bit, why is it so special, etcetera!

Xp's are the cpu to get right now. The higher you rated you get the higher your speed will be. As of right now i see the xp 1600 as being the best for price and performance. I hit 1.7ghz or xp 2100+ with it using good air cooling and 1.9v. Even better is that its only $120.

Welcome To The Forums:beer:

Well since your not really new & now about the +'s from AMD then there really is just a few to mention;

XPs (make sure that you get a stepping in the 47 week)

1. Run cooler compared to ThunderBirds;

2. SSE;

3. More calculations/work cycle.

The downside to it is that your old MoBo may not work with it.
