I have a Soyo 6 BA+100 witha 450 PIII running @600Mhz. I've seen some people reporting running 850 P III @ 1000+Mhz on this board. In the BIOS set-up the highest multiplier is 8.0 and I have upgraded the bios to the latest one. My question is what do I have to do to get the 8.5 multiplier? Will it show up just plugging in the processor since it's locked? Thanks, Tim

Hi Timbuk2, welcome to the Forum,
You have posted the question & the answer :)
Yes, the internal Cpu multiplier, locked, override the Bios settings, so it will work properly. At this point you can choose to go with a P/// Slot1 or Fc-Pga using a slotket adapter with settable Fsb/Multip & voltage.
Great OC results come from P/// 1 and 1.1Ghz E series, with Fsb@100Mhz & Stepping Revison cD0, that easly works @133Mhz and more.

I hope it helps you ;)

Thank you for the information, it is greatly appreciated! I didn't want to spend money guessing or assuming that it would work. I've got a new PIII 850 on the way, and man how the slot1 PIII's have disappeared in the past few days from retailers!!!

I'm running that same board with a P3 1000E cD0 flip chip in an Abit slotket 3 running at 1333 mhz as I type this right now. It will have no problem with your 850.
